It is really general and is very hard to judge, as many pros tend to play custom games more. Anyways, good to see that GOM is taking the initiative to bring more foreign players into the Korean SC2 scene and hope that this trend would also continue in other countries. Then pros will need to ladder more if they want to go here. You can't seriously expect GOM to subjectively evaluate every foreigner out there. That would first of all be a lot of work that they shouldn't be spending their energy on, and it would lead to plenty of complaints as well since they will never get it completely right. Hmm aren't the foreigners basically given the free registration status meaning their ladder ranking does not affect their registration for Code A qualifier unlike Koreans who needs to be in the top 172. And with 4 spots going to foreigner invitees too there's always going to be atleast 4 foreigners in the Code A tournament with more for every foreigner qualifying through the code A qualifiers. Doesn't that basically mean GOM doesn't need to investigate a foreigner if try to qualify and only need to investigate for the 4 foreigner invitees?

I'm slightly disappointed, GOM went to a huge effort to make the tournament as fair and open as possible with the open qualifiers and now they're throwing it out the window. I don't even understand why they're using this format, is it cheaper for them to run? Is it supposed to be more fun to watch? I can possibly understand inviting the highest ladder players to stay in the team house, but as the only form of entering the tournament? Surely pros time is better spent elsewhere than laddering? Am I just missing something?

However, in previous season we noted that many players had difficulty finding place to stay, and therefore we are providing team house from this season. At the moment the players can only sleep at the house but once we have 4 seeded foreigners invited we will also provide computers to practice(The exact date of when the PCs will be available is undecided) Oh wow. That's awesome.

It would be great if GOM could work out some sort of affiliation with the MLG etc; some way to use the MLG tournaments/other euro tournaments to help you seed through for the best foreigners to fill this house. It's amazing that you guys are taking the effort to extend starcraft 2 to the foreign scene! Thanks!

Going strictly by points can be just as biased as picking candidates individually.

Still a bit fuzzy on those details. It's great that GOM is providing housing/practice PCs, but if another outcome of this format is that ONLY currently established foreigners or accepted foreign applicants can participate in the GSL I will be dissappointed.... But maybe I'm just misunderstanding... Well there are 4 foreigner spots in Code A and 8 spots in the house. So I guess any of the 4 who gets the Code A spot will also get a spot in the house. All others in the house would probably have to qualify just like the Koreans. Btw does anyone know how much foreign subscribers GomTV has compared to Korean ones? This move sems to reflect taht foreign viewers are indeed quite important for Gom. On the other hand, maybe Koreans like to have some foreigners in their league, too.

Anyway, everything in this announcement sounds awesome and GOM is getting out of their way to accomodate foreigners, that's very exciting.
