You didn't possibly bet on the Lakers + 4 like I did and start celebrating @ 102-104 only to realize Kobe fouled Lewis with 0.05 seconds left on the clock as the clock runs to termination and realize Kobe single handidly killed your spread and even could have won the game if he didn't choke so horribly?

Ja Kobe, way to choke the game.

So I woke up at the very end of the 4th quarter with the Lakers inbounding the ball.
Kobe shoots and...:/

So all it take for the magic to win by four points is shoot 63% from the field and have Kobe play like Nick Anderson.
Lakers in five.

In all fairness the Magic really choked in game 2 at the end also.

no they didn't .. Courtney Lee missing a last second layup doesn't equate to the Magic choking

To the guy who said that this is the first time he's seen Kobe choke in crunch time, my guess is that you haven't watched Kobe throughout his career. He is by no means a choke artist, but believe me that's not the first time hes messed up on a play that can decide the outcome of a game. In his defense, he is human and I wouldn't consider that play "choking." Every player is going to make mistakes.
Two, I'm in agreement with Xeris. It doesn't matter how poorly Kobe is playing. He has the best chance of making the last shot.
God damn at 62.5% shooting. Broken record?

Phil Jackson actually made a comment that Gasol should have been whistled for goaltending. But thats typical Phil playing mind games as usual.
But yeah, I wouldn't equate that to choking. There was an article clearly describing that the layup was a lot tougher than it looked. Here's a play drawn up for a rookie. He catches the ball nearly under the basket on the run and has to lay it up over a 7-footer. It's not the easiest task to do.

Let's also not forget that he barely played that game as well. Hard for a rookie who had been sitting all game to come in and win a game in the Finals for his team.

Good point. Probably the biggest point I failed to address.

Jordan did something similiar in the playoffs as well, he had the ball stolen from him and it costed them a game. But i think a mistake like that lead to a championship after from mj

In most instances, regardless of a mistake that Jordan has made, he has still won the championship.
But if you're referring to MJ getting the ball stolen by Nick Anderson in Game 1 against the Magic in 1995, the Bulls lost that series

yep... Jordan was in no way perfect every game... =P no superstar ever played every crunch time perfectly. shit happens

i wouldn't say i've followed his career over the years (simply because i'm not a fan) BUT i've seen kobe miss a fair amount of potential game tiers/winners. with that said all i'm claiming is that i've never seen him turn the ball over before in the manner that he did (he tried to split the defense and had it poked away).

that's true that was really rare... as I mentioned it seemed like EVERYTHING was off - his ball handling was really shoddy
