This isn't just about Kobe. Kobe had a good game AND Denver's big three went 13-43. Some of that was good defense on the part of Kobe and Ariza, some of that was the Lakers just dodging bullets as they missed wide open shots. While I know that Lakers fans, as a whole, have a bad reputation, it still irks me when they are judged as a whole by the idiots in the group. The truth is that any team that is very popular is going to have a lot of idiot fans, simply because of the numbers game. In fact, you will find a large percentage of idiots from any group of fans, it's just that the Lakers idiots are more noticeable because of their sheer amount. I've listened to local commentators for other teams, and I've read fansites and forums for other teams, and I assure you that they all have their share of informed and reasonable fans AND idiots who talk out of their asses. Boston has the same problem with their sheer number as well, although I argue that Boston's players are not very likable (but for a few exceptions) and that trickles through to its fans when they blindly defend them and ignore their faults. The Lakers also have some very players who people tend to not like (including their best player), and thus they also come off looking bad when they blindly defend them as well. I just think that Boston's team is less likable ![]() With that said, it is very stupid to argue that the series should be 3-0 in the Lakers' favor because it has been a great competitive series. The teams are pretty evenly matched as they are right now, and both are playing hard. Each game could easily have gone either way, and that's what's making this series so fun to watch. The Lakers depend heavily on Kobe since he generates so much of their offense and is their best 1on1 defender, but all the credit shouldn't be given to him for the wins or the losses. He can't do it alone against a quality team, and that's what Denver has become with Billups coming in. He needs Gasol to play well, he needs the team to play defense, and he needs the role players to do their jobs. Last night, he got enough of those things to overcome the Nuggets, and he can thank those factors for not making his magnificent play go to waste.

Anyone who doesn't immediately recognize this is just lying to themselves. The ONLY reason KMart was an Allstar was because of Kidd.

It could had been 0-3 for Lakers.
