Sucks that Slayer stopped playing, and Sven for that matter.. Things have changed ALOT in the foreign community for the last 4 years or so, so its alot to catch up on.

Please post your iccup name, I am interested to see how persons who have been gone for a long time can keep up with the current players

Testie in his prime was such a beast. His PvP and PvT were close to pro level imo. Remember his game vs Bisu on Blitz :p
And even with his T and Z he could beat most of the good foreigners.

Please post your iccup replays ( i'm serious. I just want to see oldschool playing vs newschool ).

I think you just wake up "late". My D+ today would have been something like > C around 2003 i guess.
So > B+ players today would rape any player of your era.

I didn't like the way AttackZerg put it in his post at the time, but now I see he's clearly right. SaddleS really has no idea how things have changed and how far they've came in the years he's been inactive. Testie was definitely top 5 foreigners for at least a few years, and the current skill level on ICC is wayyyy above what it used to be.

If you want to play bet games, I'm down. It won't prove anything but I'm certain I can beat you now. By the way I'm struggling at C on ICCup current (identical system to PGT), so that should give you an idea of how things have changed.

My guess is that this guy will probably struggle VERY HARD to stay at C- at ICCup if he manages to get there in the first place.

The discussion in this thread is pointless.

We are talking about 2 different worlds -- Starcraft from 4-5 years ago, and starcraft now.

It's like saying, I was Mohammed Ali in last life, I think I'm gonna go train for the heavyweight title in this life.

Testie was bad then <-> Testie is extremely good now.
You were ok then <-> You very likely suck ass now.
You taught Nony the basics <-> Nony is 50X better now than you ever was (and very likely will stay.)


Why is it so hard to understand that everything in this word changes with time?

ya, I was around since the beginning when NTT was the hot topic then, and yes i remember saddles was amount the top tier players back then. The fact is that testie and draco got a lot better than when you were around, but they didn't accomplish as much with those skills like Elky did. testie did however take games from korean pros here and there. The skill level is a lot higher now,here is the facts, back then Elky was able to get 4th place amongst giants such as garimto, boxer, reach yellow and many more. in comparison, Nony (possibly better in skills than elky back then) only managed to almost passed his courage tournament (for progaming license)
I think it will take you at least 2 weeks to start owning the top USA players of today.

Meh..i didn't even really read the content of his post..I just think hes a fucking tool in a funny way..the way he jumps to all these gamer's aids...like they can't defend themselves...or like they want them to....He is just a tool because he worships foreigners so much he prolly calls them his "friends" and its funny...

On the other hand, I'd be VERY interested in reading this guy's blog if he should describe his ICCup adventures in it.

In my opinion, it would be a great read for those of us who are rather new to the game. Comparing old ideas and beliefs about the game to the brutal reality of today's ICCup experience.
