As a Canadian, I actually really don't mind cheering for Foreigners in general vs Koreans. With the Foreigners vs Korean competition we have going on, It doesn't feel wrong for me to root for an American or a Russian. It sucks that Canada won't be represented, and that Canadian players won't get the opportunity, but It's not a terribly deep wound. Ah fuck it, I'll take TSL over WCG any day. Indeed. If this was before TSL days, I would have freaked out about this news.. Now it's just Meh. | ||

WCG has been decaying for the past 2-3 years. They never get their shit together on time, and the people running it are not motivated to do the best job they can. It is not the responsibility of the gamers to prop up this BUSINESS to make it look good. Remember, this IS a business. $5,000 is a crazy amount of money, and this is for one person from one country. Many people on this site do not have a WCG spot either. I don't think it is fair to get people to donate to just one cause. If you have ties with a corporate sponsorship, by all means help out. Don't donate out of pocket though. You are throwing your money away. | ||
