Ok so here's the deal. WCG Canada is not having BW this year. Why? They haven't been able to get a sponsor to be able to send a player to the Grand Final. I just talked to the WCG Canada organizer and it's a similar deal as last year as far as budget cuts and whatnot, but I guess they've decided that they can't send a BW player this year.
This is where [hopefully] you all can maybe help. I want to organize a fundraiser to give Canada a BW representative at the grand finals.
We need to raise $5,000 to give Canada a BW spot. Right now I just want to gauge general interest in this idea to see potentially how much can be raised.
I urge everyone to help out, if you love BW you know it would be a damn shame if Canada was deprived representation at the grand final.
Canada is home to some of the best BW players, and there are always amazing games at WCG Canada each year.
IefNaij is still seeking his first medal at WCG Canada, Raptor might try to regain the throne, will Testie return? Bandit and SchiSm are also great players who may want to make another shot at taking gold.
There are a lot of newcomers who have recently gained a lot of skill this past year... Aerials, Kye, GrN, Stalife, etc... who would make WCG much more interesting.
And of course we can't forget about people like JianG, Freaky, and some others who are regulars at WCG Canada finals.
It really would be a shame if there was no BW tournament at WCG Canada, let alone no Canadian at the Grand Final.
So please, if anybody is interested in helping out, PLEASE PM me! I want to see how far we can take this thing, and hopefully if we all pool our efforts we can give WCG Canada a BW tournament.

PS, for anyone that will ask something like "why do I care" , well I've been going to WCG Canada for the past 2 years to hang out with my fellow LighT teammates, and last year I was the head admin for their BW tournament, and was hoping to go again this year. And I'm a BW fan in general and I want to see the best possible WCG for every country if possible, especially one that I am so involved in.

would be great if ppl could help out but im afraid there are alot of countries that cannot send due to lack of money. why just help canada:/ how about sweden! we've not been in wcg for ages.

Yeah it was one thing sending Tasteless out of our own pocket. I would rather see a corperate sponsor but thats not really something we can negociate considering its WCG's operation and now ours ~_~

Getting sponsorship for WCG Canada is still an option, however so far they havent been able to get the necessary sponsorship to send a BW player. Anyways, I hope enough people would be interested in helping out. If there is enough positive feedback I'll work out all the logistics on how to get this done and we can get the ball rolling.

If someone with a pokerstars account is willing to escrow for this then I'd be willing to give $10 or so. Although if $5000 wasn't reached I'd want my money back :p.
