Michigan went from McCain's corner to Obama.. helping to extend Obama's electoral vote lead to over 100.
Here is what the presidential race would look like if it were to be held today, according to our estimations:
* Barack Obama - 320 * John McCain - 218
Michigan is a crucial state but so are so many other states... McCain could add Romney as a VP to help shore up Michigan but that would still put him about 70 EV behind. Kinda of wary about this, you think this would be major news if this was true.
these early polls are kind of silly, there's so much left before the voting happens, between the debates and picking the VP's forcasting this early...i always think it's a bit silly

Obama wants payroll tax on incomes above $250,000
The 6.2 percent payroll tax is now applied to all wages up to $102,000 a year, which covers the entire amount for most Americans. Under Obama's plan, the tax would not apply to wages between that amount and $250,000. But all annual salaries above the quarter-million-dollar amount would be taxed under his plan, Obama said.

Yup and you guys love him. Sad.

taxation is not the answer for class conflicts, look at income and the availability of decent paying jobs.

You tax payroll 250k or above, whats that going to do for the consumer? Just because you dont make 250k you may think you have nothing to worry about? 6.2% is huge. Remember, this is also for businesses. What happens when this affects a business? You think about it. It all comes around again at some point in time. Damn, I may as well quit my job and claim welfare and have around 10 kids.

Concerns that Obama will shift right economically once elected.
Barack Obama waited just three days after Hillary Clinton pulled out of the race to declare, on CNBC, "Look. I am a pro-growth, free-market guy. I love the market."
Now is the time to worry about Obama's Chicago Boys and their commitment to fending off serious attempts at regulation. It was in the two and a half months between winning the 1992 election and being sworn into office that Bill Clinton did a U-turn on the economy. He had campaigned promising to revise NAFTA, adding labor and environmental provisions and to invest in social programs. But two weeks before his inauguration, he met with then-Goldman Sachs chief Robert Rubin, who convinced him of the urgency of embracing austerity and more liberalization. Rubin told PBS, "President Clinton actually made the decision before he stepped into the Oval Office, during the transition, on what was a dramatic change in economic policy."
you better watch yourself Obama

you better watch yourself Obama This stuff makes me want to yell at all of starry-eyed Obama fans.
Obama is a politician. He is making promises to get elected. He will not keep those promises once he is elected. This is what politicians do. It has been proven over and over again.
"Change" is just his marketing slogan.
Why do I believe that? Because that is the way it has always worked, throughout history, with every elected leader in every mature democracy.

If obama won, his policies would make the US more like canada in certain ways

Funchucks: are there even any starry eyed obama supporters on this board?
i mean most of us have our own reasons for supporting him. in my case, i suspect at the end of the day when the dust settles obama leans liberal, and that's all that matters to me.
others here probably just like him because he's not named Bush and he doesn't have an R next to his name. i haven't seen too many people here who defend obama with say, the zealousness of a ron paul supporter. i'm possibly the most zealous but that's just because of my secret liberal agenda
EDIT: and i don't think there's anything wrong with wanting to believe obama's rhetoric, so long as you are also taking the time to do a background check.

If we well gonna base of what Obama said in his speech at PollClash. The word "change" is just a word. Either canidate would contitute a change. For ex: we are all part in our families, yet we all do not have share the same beliefs nor are we identically same. McCain was a democrate not so long ago. Another great ex: when we need someone with true experience due we reach out for someone whom we know nothing about or how they work? We should want the best experienced person to do the job, his name is McCain.

McCain is becoming senile, and most senatorial experience doesn't translate into White House experience.

Obama promises tuition tax credit
Obama said he would give students a $4,000 tax credit to help pay tuition and fees in exchange for 100 hours of community service. The campaign said the program would cost $10 billion a year.
Pretty interesting.
