Imho if Testie could manage to spare 6 months of his life. He should go try it. If I had the skill I definately would. It wouldn't hurt to try. Its a once in a lifetime experience. And I also believe that Protoss is his best race. I'm sure that he'd be better than his other two clanmates Movie and Probe, not sure about nbs and definately not much ^^. But his best shot would be to go as a protoss.
It would be good from a tl.net's perspective also. I think he'd post in his freetime and let us know what its like over there from a real live point of view.

I hope everyone realizes that if SC2 comes out and takes over or whatever, being on a pro team in Korea is the BEST place to be. If it resets the skill level to some extent, a foreigner over there already situated would have perhaps the premier opportunity of anyone in the world to really become famous and successful at it.

I doubt Testie will stay in Korea for more than 9 months. It's not because of him, I don't know how disciplined he can follow a training routine and how strong he is mentally to stay focused. I just think he cannot live in Korea. It will be another world for him, he will feel that way every single day. It may cause him to question his decision again and again. Sooner or later he will ask himself what he's doing in Korea when he could have a good life somewhere else.
He will most likely lose his aim after some time - feeling that he's walking in circles - and then he won't play SC with heart anymore. That will be his return to normal life, back home, finding a job, etc. Or in the worst case he will become another poker-freak...

Everyone needs something where he can go back to at any moment in his life.
I highly doubt Testie can break the rules of life, no matter how hard he tries.

testie aint draco, that bitch of a quitter

you should probably shut the fuck up until you spend a year living with people you can barely talk to playing a computer game for 14 hours a day.

You mean like people who play WoW?

Would be very cool if it happens.

Maybe this is what CJ Entus is trying to do. Turn SC into something not exclusively Korean. I am sure the Korean companies making money on SC want to expand their business into the rest of the world.

I mean, I'll cheer from him.

hah, Much will own Testie. (no offense to testie)

if Testie does decide to take the really difficult path of becoming a progamer in korea, more power to him. but to me, it just sounds unreasonable, because one, you can't force someone to practice the amount of hours korean progamers practice, and two, you can't force someone to speak korean. i agree with the posts that stated that it is easier to be there with someone who can speak your tongue because in all honesty, no one can survive the grueling hours and just get by without having some peace of mind to talk with someone who is undergoing a similar experience.

and again, how many foreigners have thought that they could take progaming on? esp. in such a narrow field like progaming, where only the really good make it to the top, while the lesser knowns serve in proleague (if they end up doing pretty well in team games) or languish back at the training house. honestly, progaming is fun to watch, but it's so difficult, i think.

and yeah, this rumor business pretty much sounded like rubbish, but again, if testie was really offered a contract, and he wants to do it, go testie.

you only live once.. so why not take the opportunity to make a new experience. Even if it's shitty and you are wiser afterwards, your still got to see something new.

he was offered a contract. he knows better than you do what his position among korean skill level is, and that he is far away from playing in OSL/MSL.
What he also knows is that it is atleast an AWESOME experience to go do your hobby as a job in a completely different culture.

I see now why these guys keep information away from the general public. I am sorry testie, I am REALLY excited for you and I wanted to share that with the community. I forgot that the community is diverse with fucktard morons who will nay-say anything even if they dont realize the oppurtunity at hand.

I wish I had kept it a secret.

PS: Those who are being supportive, I thank you. This is fucking excellent and awesome. Absolutely nothing bad about it. To say he will do "better or worse" is not only a projection into a future you most likely have no fucking clue on, its a mute point. Be happy we are looking at putting a non korean in korea.

mm ok, more power to him. i didn't say that i was more knowledgeable than he was, mind you. all i'm saying is that it is really difficult to become a good progamer, they make it look pretty glamorous on TV, and a lot of kids have dreams of becoming a progamer, but few will reach that level.

and to your latter point on how it was an awesome experience, i think you can ask either YellOw or NaDa if they still consider their jobs awesome. last time i checked, they both were saying that (in an interview) that they wished sc were a hobby, not their job that they go at for 12 hours a day. but again, who am i or you to say that testie can't do it right?

hah.

I would love to see a Canadian head to the big leagues. Hopefully it will also re-energize Testie on BW and will give hope to all the foreigners out there.

Represent Canada! Wish you the best.

If Testie can practice with Much for weeks, a few hours a day, why would he not catch up with him?
