Light's guidepack is also Korean, 18 videos for $20, made in 2019 or so. People who really care about learning games, knowledges, game-sense, etc, language should not be mattered just like watching/learning football for new and fresh blood athletes.

So I'm not allowed to question Scan in a thread dedicated to a Scan guide/ video pack (that also violates TL policies)? The guy cares so little about the foreign fans that he won't even translate or add subtitles to his pack, but still expects foreigners to buy it. Seems to me that this would in fact be the ideal place to discuss such a thing!
Furthermore, I disagree strongly with you having done great things, in fact I think more often than not you're only looking out for yourself, which is why you cheated several times. Which is why you decided to ignore a boycott of a Chinese tournament that had Savior in it, and which is why you continuously went into foreign twitch channels to say "gg" and then advertise your own stream. It's not like your transgressions are all in the past, you continue to act selfish and without morals. After 10 years of such behaviour, the character of a man is quite clear.

I have to be the one to apologise here my friends, it was really my idea to make a post about this. I encouraged Scan to do it and he was busy at the time testing out maps for ASL and engaging with his viewers on Twitch, so I volunteered to make a post about it on TL and Reddit, and I also spammed a few discords.
I know Scan has a lot of fans, and figured some people might be interested in his guide pack. Sorry I didn't give too much thought about his tutorial videos being in Korean. I figured some valuable insights could still be gleaned from them, similar to watching replays.

first off, I'll recognize that saying no discussion is bad and that prohibiting it actually only helps scan. so yeah, my bad.
You are of course free to oppose the idea of a korean language guide being sold on TL, I'm fine with that considering that as tQ said it was more him advertising it and as far as TL's advertising policy itself goes, we don't have a strict no advertising policy, its very case by case and generally speaking good community members(in this case tQ and scan) tend to get a pass on this as long as its relevant to our community.
that being said, the argument of scan being a valuable member of our community or not is not relevant to this thread.

So your argument is that the rule doesn't apply to scan because he's a "good community member", but whether he actually is or isn't a good community member isn't relevant to this thread? That seems insanely contradictory to me. Especially considering he was actually caught cheating in a TL event (one of several times).

you're saying that his contributions to the strategy forums are worth nothing? oh the gall of advertising your stream in someone else's stream, god forbid he want viewers. I haven't heard much in terms of scan and cheating since at least 2011 and I know he was banned from TSL2, the only other thing would be the banning of scan from TLS/TLC but mostly because he wasn't a foreigner.
I'm not the one stuck on things he did a full decade ago.

I notice you just completely skipped the part about condoning the savior tournament? The guy that literally destroyed progaming, I guess his "contributions" in the strategy section makes up for all of the shitty things he did? What about the THOUSANDS of dollars he won in foreign tournaments, you don't think those should "make up" for any strategy forum posts? You're being incredibly naive. His behaviour has consistently been that of a scumbag with shitty morals, apologizing for one of the shitty things he did (cheating in TSL etc) doesn't mean anything when he continues to do scummy things -- even if you consider his newer transgressions *less* shitty. And do you genuinely believe it's cool for someone to literally join a twitch stream just to try and steal their viewers? I think that's abhorrent.
But I mean he's still a tier above Shinee in my book, so things *could* be worse.

I tried not to continue replying about your post, but I have to.
Cheated and involved into drama where LRM Team, JoeKim's monopoly of running tournaments. I've explained about that story long ago. I made a mistake, I should have not done that and I stopped contacting them. This gave me a lesson how I should be in the future.
Chinese tournaments were always huge, I got invited. I'm just an acquaintance with Savior and nothing more. There were not many tournaments host and I couldn't qualify for ASL group stage(ASL S1~4), and I need money to continue living my life. I get that you hate Savior about match-fixing scandal/story, and I hate it too. I had a goal to become a pro before, and I'm still looking forward to succeed something still.
Typing out "gg" is an actual thing in Korean game culture. If you don't type gg, you'll pretty much get excluded any events in Korea. And guess what? foreigners are the ones picking a fight saying like "noob, i beat you ez, etc" And I can't correct them what they are saying then? Have you ever seen me ragequit the game because i simply lost a game by one lucky move by the opponent? I always type gg. You've been active on foreign scene more than I've done so you know how bad and toxic they are.
Since you mentioned about advertisement of stream, I don't see any problem about it. And let's get on the point. How about Artosis that he did 2 weeks ago? How about other streamers like LoL, PUBG, or any other popular games having their ID names like AFTV_NAME, TWITCHTV_NAME, YouTube_NAME and so on? I guess they are the bad guys, ^^.

So you happily (and openly) admit that you cheated in TSL, that you cheated in regards to LRM/JoeKim, that you participated in a chinese tournament where ALL PROGAMERS DECIDED TO BOYCOTT IT, and lastly you admit to openly trying to steal viewers by showing up in people's twitch chat (I know you were banned/kicked a few times, guess that didn't stop you or make you think about your actions eh?). I think that just about settles it then. Tell me though, how did the Korean community react to you and shinee ignoring that boycott? Let's be honest about it right?
And I mean the personal insults seem kind of questionable, clearly my morals and integrity are both superior to yours, as only one of us has committed all of the transgressions that you just admitted to doing -- and it sure as shit wasn't me. Also if you're that interested in my life, I can tell you I have about ~470 ECTS worth of university credits, but I don't really see what the relevance is. As for pricing, I think most capitalistic systems are based on supply/demand, I'll be brutally honest with you and tell you that even if your video guides were in English and free, I would still not be interested.
Edit: Lastly, I actually think you had a golden opportunity in this thread to at least redeem yourself a bit upon being confronted with the fact that it's all in Korean; if you had just shown a tiny amount of goodwill or interest in adding some English voice-over, subtitles or even some bullet points to your videos, it would've shown you cared about the English speaking viewers. But unfortunately you decided to prove me right in my assertions by blatantly disregarding the criticism and implying people should happily buy it and just simply learn from watching.

Originally I assumed that they were banned from all KCM events because there was some news about KCM banning them whether it was actually true or just a temporary ban I'm not actually sure, but considering other than scan and shinee there was beast and sexy in the tournament and beast has been on KCM challenger since that and also beast was seen as recently as in ASTL in the same team as larva and bisu, clearly not much was thought about it.
scan himself has been on ASL qualifiers so clearly afreeca didn't care either.
as far as advertising streams go, people have free will like if scan advertised his stream on another person's stream thats not really stealing viewers, they can switch streams if they like, honestly you're being unnecessarily hysterical on this point.
and honestly, if he was allowed to compete in a foreigner tournament then thats on the organizer, yeah that one just sucks but can't blame scan for it, like what, deny yourself easy money? if he smurfed like back in the vTv/LRM/Joekim days then yeah I get you, but if he competed and won as scan no smurfing then nothing wrong with that.
at least now you've come to actually criticizing the product itself.
