You could post a replay there and someone will help you.

you can post a replay but at 3k mmr there are probably a lot of things you can improve on. if you're producing enough then just focus on basic tactics: fight where and when you're strong. do the math, if 3 bcs are in your main then they can't be anywhere else at the same time. this is all just general tactical advice, not terran advice

Sorry if any of this patronizing or advice for people below your level its hard to know without a replay. Alot of this depends on what stage of the game you're at. If he's relentlessly dropping to clear out turrets for libs leave a thor at each base and use repair. If you don't wanna do this just run your SCVs away and reexpand on the other side of the map. The main advantage you have in this build is the amount of bases you generate quickly (because you're focusing on macro) so just expand faster than he can drop. This way you are using your macro advantage to defend because that is what the build is for. 3-4 thors should be able to take out the BCs with SCVs. You should be constantly building command centers so every base from your 4th onwards should be a planetary fortress. You should also be constantly building SCVs from loads of command centers so if you lose a bunch of them to drops it isn't that bad. Focus on defending where his BCs are gonna probably go. Also, don't watch the BCs in your main base. just attack BCs with your thors, get your SCVs repairing and back to macro straight away. If you stop macroing and expanding for 2 minutes because of the BCs in your main you lose. If you have tanks left from the early game and he warps his BCs into your main just leave enough at home to deal with it and go attack (depending on what the timing is if he had to cut other production to get BCs you might just kill him). Oh also, make sure you have some tanks with your main defensive force, if your opening tanks get killed by a BC try and rebuild them otherwise a marine push can kill you. I guess the main thing though is making sure you have scouted for BCs and leaving enough thors/turrets at home to deal with however many he has.

Nice 1st post, welcome. i Disagree, if you want to play hardcore mech and win with one big army move you can do so easily at 3k MMR without any harras/fancy stuff etc. just make sure you hit a crisp timing that your build is optimized for and defend inside your bases while scouting out his composition and timing. Like identify when you want to be SAFE then be SUPER safe for what your enemy has shown so far, and when you think your timing has come, strike with your all in of choice. If your execution is cleaner then your opponents and you each reacted somewhat propperly to eachother, you win if he all out defends and the game turns basetrade if he also attacks. Now you have to formulate responses for these 2 scenarios (gamesense/stragety)... So to improve the most you should focus on the likeliest Situation first! and be able to figure that out from your games. e.g. that Basetrades happen in most of your games, then you formulate a theory how to prepare for that and run it through some trial and error reflection cycle until your results in these kinds of games improve to a point that you think you d see diminishing returns for this particular training topic and move on to the next BIG thing that costs you games. IMHO you can use this approach to almost any opening you can think of which makes SC2 such a brilliant game. Develop your skills and develop your style then you become good at it eventually and will either see the limitations of your earlier decisions or become content with where you are at and enjoy anyway :D
