im not so sure about the chest, everyone that told me they got it got them on a noncaster
I got leather chest (felshroud vest) 3-5 times on my DH
I got several leather chests on my DH
Since loot is directly tied to class & spec there may be an issue there. The chest that i have is actually agility only

Once i get my artifact weapon - I won't ever be receiving a new one, right?
Or will bosses drop better artifact weapons?

Or will bosses drop better artifact weapons? No you will use the same weapon all of Legion.
What you will find is Relics, which are like gems for weapons. They grant bonus traits and increase the weapons ilvl. They are the weapon drop equivalent of Legion.

Or will bosses drop better artifact weapons? There will be things that augment your weapon (Relics) but there won't be "replacement" weapons. You'll have the one you get until the end of Legion, though they will have different skins/transmogs you can unlock in various ways, and I would imagine they would release more throughout the expansion as well.

Ah, i see. Thanks for the response.
I'm a little mixed on the idea - it lowers the barrier of entry (depending on how impactful Relics/Artifact powerups are), but removes the excitement and reward of getting a weapon upgrade.
I wonder if it's a good decision on the part of the Devs.
How do you guys feel?

I think it's dumb because they'll be retiring the artifacts in the next expansion, which is just weird
Hey you used ashbringer all of legion and now you find a random green sword from a quest, hf replacing ashbringer with that

Do we know this? That would be very stupid indeed.

That would be very stupid indeed. They've already talked about letting us keep the artifact transmogs for future expansion so it's assumed, i can't remember if they outright stated it
Edit: Googled around: http://www.wowhead.com/news=254031/legion-artifact-q-a
How can you use artifact appearances in later expansions? They want a method to let you access these appearances in later expansions. Perhaps after Legion ends, the ability to acquire these appearances will be cut off--you have to acquire the appearances during Legion to be eligible to keep them afterwards.
Heavily implies that artifacts are just for legion.

It is super different, surely you know that.
I mean, do most players even know what the cloak or the ring are called?

The cloaks and rings have a bunch of different names
but removes the excitement and reward of getting a weapon upgrade.
There will still be large upgrades which feel the same from a DPS change / simcraft point of view. The weapon model itself is meaningless to me unless it's obscenely good because of the transmog system

Can't you do the other artifact quests for your other specs as well or did they do away with that? If they didn't then thats 3 artifact weapons for you to have.
I haven't been keeping up with Legion as much as I was. That WoW candle is still burnt out :|

Only 2 out of 33 specs get a 'famous' weapon.

That would be very stupid indeed. There are plenty of ways they can make you "lose" your artifact without it feeling too bad, so I'm not really worried about it. I don't see them having designed the artifact system without having an endgame with it.

I just went through the weapons to prove you wrong, but you're right.
Didn't they seriously drop the ball by not giving Priests Anathema + Benediction? I would instantly roll one if I could get the Anathema model.

I love all the DH's jumping on the skull of war, pushing the price 2x higher than Stone of the Elements on my server - SOTE is just as good, arguably even better

A lvl 60 item wouldn't do well @ lvl 110

they will obviously wait and look how artifact weapons will turn out.
There are plenty of ways to get rid of them if they have to, 90% of them you can probably just return to their rightful owner once invasion is over.
also i actually like the holy priest weapon, but i dont like the holy priest with its boring spells and RNG artifact effects.

I would instantly roll one if I could get the Anathema model. They wouldn't reuse an item that was already in game (yes, I know about corrupted Ashbringer. It was removed and sort of doesn't count because it's a different version anyway). And besides, is Anathema/Benediction "famous"? I mean, in the lore, not in game-fame from the old quest.
The artifacts are fine in my book. Even if the weapons didn't exist themselves, most of them link to someone famous or a group/event that's significant.
