The fact that saurfang is still there getting ready to fight for sylvanas at undercity is incredibly out of character for him, he should be ready to kill her already, just like he swore he would do to garrosh if he tried to do this shit

On August 03 2018 01:26 maze. wrote: www.wowhead.com Novellas from the collecter's editon show some differences compared to the ingame events.Blizzard will publish them online at a later date. It has always been a problem in warcraft lore that important pieces of informations are only available in books. + Show Spoiler + Unfortunately the last moments, the passing the kill on to Saurfang and deciding the burn the world tree..they haven’t really improved in my opinion. The motivation for burning it is described as inflicting the wound that Malfurion’s death should have suffered. But since Saurfang refused to kill him, she had to do something else and at that moment decided to give the other. Saurfang screams for them to stop firing, this is not their way, this is not what he signed up for, but it was already too late. Saurfang did not move for hours, not until the screams faded and the flames had burned themselves down to embers. Before him, stood a smoking husk that had once been a great civilization. Inside him was a feeling of despair, a feeling of shame. There was no haze of corruption now to soften the horror. Saurfang would remember this moment in his dreams forever. He would relive his shame, and all the new ones to come, over and over again. You have led your Horde in the service of death, Malfurion had said. How could Saurfang face the soldiers he had led into this war? How could he explain what they had done? He couldn’t. He would never know how. But the burden would be his, always, until his dying day. As Saurfang turned away, he hoped that day would come soon… Yup. All the stories give the whole event more detailed version which, as Nobbel said, should've been portrayed in-game. But at least we know them now/soon enough. http://www.wowhead.com/news=286021/story-of-the-burning-of-teldrassil-elegy-and-a-good-war-with-nobbel87

https://www.engadget.com/2014/11/11/alex-afrasiabi-on-warlords-garrosh-and-alternate-azeroth/ It doesn't represent what they actually ended up wanting to do with garrosh

It's bad writing if they make a bunch of content for a character, years and sometimes a decade of lore and then decide that they want to take the character in a new direction and so start over on all of the values and personality of that character. It's not the same character, they just have the same name and clothing. You end up with 50% of the lore being "real garrosh" and 50% being "fake garrosh" because it was written in another direction and often even by a different writer so that they're no longer recognizable as the same character despite years as a secondary character and then years more as main character before their personality change --- Horde catapults also hitting the inside of darnassus from the mainland.. no, that would require a range of ~3km in the tiny shrunk player world and many tens of kilometers in the lore world. Medieval era catapults usually had ranges 10-100x smaller than that, it's laughably implausibly far and for no reason. They could have just sailed over there with some torches. There are other versions of the story which are only kinda trash instead of completely trash - they contradict the ingame version of the story - but they're out of game with a price tag printed on the front so they don't exist. That includes retcons to the war of thorns (is it a retcon if the "official" version happens before the "fake" version? seems like that could use a more appropriate term..) and all of the calia / desolate council stuff. I don't expect it to be good, i'm mainly surprised at the amount of people that are shocked that it's written questionably for the X'th year in a row

+ Show Spoiler + You are pretty on point here Cyro. I bet half the reason there is so much discussion about this right now is that there is not much else going on with WoW till the expansion hits

ow- tl;dr new system allowed for crazy honor farming a few orders of magnitudes faster than BG's. Some people used it to farm to super high honor levels and then blizzard removed the ability to do so but didn't roll back anyone.

And perfect to give things a different spin after all the waves caused by the Sylvanas stuff. Also best troll portrayal ever.

Unfortunately it also shows how inconsistent the writing is. If Saurfang was so conflicted about burning down the tree, you would have thought that he could have said something BEFORE it happened, as opposed to putting up some token resistance to Sylvannas after the fact. I get the feeling that this cinematic was made before Warbringers, and also before they made the final creative decision on who exactly burnt the tree. The dialogue in this cinematic is sufficiently ambiguous that Saurfang could have objected to the tree burning at the onset.Heck with some amount of imagination the dialogue is sufficiently open to accommodate other reasons why the tree was burnt.

Hell, best thing since Grom and Thrall vs Mannoroth in Warcraft III. The Teldrassil images are haunting. And a real character driven video? Much better than random action scenes.

So the horde warchief is the villain AGAIN. I was kind of hoping that the Alliance was responsible this time round. Like maybe the lil' lion got the wrong end of the stick or was grieving for daddy
