The Indeterminacy Principle of quantum theory states a decreasing accuracy in measuring paired-quantities simultaneously (e.g. position and momentum).
Those most acquainted with Eastern theories of mind and the writings of Timothy Leary and colleagues will find this explanation intuitive.
Essentially, the fundamental substrate upon which the physical universe resides is known as mind, or what I term mind-space for its close resemblance to space-time. Before I delve into the intricacies of mind-space and its nature of metaphysical primacy, I will attempt a metaphorical analysis of space-time.
Consider time zones. In the Eastern United States it is 5:00. In the Central time zone it is 4:00. In the Midwest it is 3:00.
Now suppose that instead of existing independent of one another in space, there was a degree of overlap amidst these time zones. Imagine that these time zones were not continuous, but instead resembled a piece-wise function. Consider three "overlapping" planes.

Thus the same particle exists at the same point in space at a several different moments in time.
A second perspective is that the "time zones" themselves differ substantially. Thus the time zones are not so much like planes as they are like integrated, "overlapping" fluid fields. For instance, it is now 5:00 in the Eastern United States. At 5:02 it will be 4:01 in the Central time zone. This implies that a particle moving at a "uniform" pace will appear to or really travel at a slower pace with respect to time zones.
This is probably why quantum theorists have elected the term String Theory. A single particle may travel along several different paths of motion "simultaneously" assuming different qualities of friction or paces of time.
Depending upon how physical laws manifest in different "worlds" of space-time, we might be justified in referring to these different fields as different dimensions (i.e. worlds with different parameters for the operation of physical laws).
To what extent these different worlds overlap or, on the other hand, are incompatible with one another, is a major factor determining measurement error or measurement techniques.
I have decided to revisit this topic later to explain the convergence of space-time and mind-space, and why I speak of mind-space as having metaphysical primacy.
