here's a better view of the situation: he's standing right behind the police, who are being peppered by stones and molotov cocktails. not sure if he is firing live rounds, as i doubt the police would sit behind their shields as 2 ppl are using them as cover to fire lethal weaps at protestors, haven't seen any pics of people with gunshot wounds / similar or reports of casualties from this either, but that might change. ![[image loading]](http://ic.pics.livejournal.com/napaki/12851221/125621/125621_original.jpg) | ||

But, they look like old stuff they probably found in some armory of some kind, so whatever. Now there's the conspiracy theory that they HAD to have gotten these from Russia, because MANPADS obviously do not exist ANYWHERE in Ukraine. Because when revolutionaries practically take over 2 of the more developed/industrialized provinces in a country and among the most militarized areas, I'd like to think that there's some opportunity they'd found some MANPADs some place or another. This is 10000x more likely than the belief that Russia is giving them weapons (which, to date, has not been the case, as the insurgents have been doing nothing but complaining how every plea to Russia for money/weapons/intervention is practically ignored. But the sudden parroting of John Kerry's conspiracy theory from a couple weeks back that Russia is directly backing these guys and that these guys are actually active-duty Russian soldiers is completely not in line with the current events, and it's almost distressing to see it still come up in this thread. Then again, if there's anything we're famous for, it's that we have many people who care about this stuff who are pretty "religious", and if someone in the govt. says something, no matter how absurd or irrational, tons of people are going to believe it with something akin to unwavering faith. Finally, a post of yours that I think I agree with I haven't seen evidence of actual gunshot wounds so that would suggest that either his aim was horrible or that he wasn't firing live rounds, until we hear of actual gun-shot wounds. Thanks for pointing that out.As to the video you posted. Could you (or anyone else) explain how it is relevant to the situation? I watched it several times, and it seems like it's just a bunch of cops having shit thrown at them. I don't see any 'shooters' or anything very relevant in it. Thanks! Yes, I did see a chubby cop firing a pistol at the union building a few times. We don't really know who he was firing at or why. I doubt he was just trying to kill random separatists, but was probably targeting some more direct threat. | ||

I was listening to the video from the balcony of that line First there is a Russian speaking Ukrainian guy says "give us a path and we will do our thing" then the fat guy starts: "it started when ultra wanted pass by foot, but they couldnt do it because pro-Russian activist were here, they were armed, they had molotovs, they had everything, our guys went unarmed, we have four wounded and my leg is too. At first around Rada they blocked our office and then they started attacking the ultras. Then this situation started, a bunch of cars are beat up, there is more of us but we arent allowed to do anything. | ||
