I find it hilarious how different media filters out the news in different ways.
Just shows you how difficult it is to find real information.

The guardian (UK), Spiegel.de already mentioned it... Well... that's 2 out of the 2 sources I use... It was officially confirmed by all sides, that the conversation is authentic, but the interpretation is not exactly what RT makes out of it.

Not sure where you get ' nobody mentioned it' from...

CNN,BBC,Euronews,Aljazeera,B92,those are the ones i follow.
Thanks for the info.

What are you talking about, the BBC reported on it during the crisis. Well, it doesnt go to the Russian extreme of declaring it all being EU supper snipers or as Pale rider explained "all shots to the neck are clearly signs of British snipers" but there were reporters. As far as I can see though, the Ukrainian government has also requested international assistance in monitoring the issue.

Kerry and Lavrov are reporting a breakthrough, they are negotiating now.

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said his country would continue discussions on Ukraine with Western countries.
Lavrov on Wednesday, March 5, met with his colleagues from the United States, Germany, Great Britain, France, and Poland, as well as Catherine Ashton, the High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy.
“It was a long negotiating day. We agreed to continue our discussions,” the Russian minister said.
Lavrov and Kerry agreed that Ukraine needs assistance in implementing the February 21 agreement reached by the opposition and the authorities.
“We agreed that we should help Ukraine implement the agreement of February 21,” Lavrov said after a meeting with Kerry in Paris on Wednesday, March 5. “We have just held a meeting with John Kerry on the situation in Ukraine and the steps our partners are trying to take through the OSCE, the Russia-NATO Council and other international organisations; steps that do not help create an atmosphere of dialogue. John Kerry agreed that such atmosphere needs to be created. It’s very hard to make honest agreements that will help the Ukrainian people stabilise the situation in an atmosphere of threats and ultimatums,” the minister said.
After Lavrov had left the French Foreign Ministry, Ukraine’s acting Foreign Minister Andrei Deshchitsa entered the negotiating room to join his Western colleagues to further discussion.

Edit: Note that OSCE monitoring missions apparently aren't welcome in Crimea... Confirmation of what was said in the UNSC.

I personally see no progress, but that's because everything is happening behind closed doors. Russia is obviously trying to avoid being hit with sanctions tomorrow, and protracted negotiations is a way to get that... But we'll see more tomorrow, i guess.

read your own goddamn link - what you quoted was written about 2004, not today. all the author, mark ames said, without substantiation, is that the quote "applies to the US/EU role today." no evidence needed. jeebus h. keeerist. you should get warned for posts as sloppy and ridiculous as the above quoted one as they serve no purpose but as a foundation for you to say i'm dishonest. if you're going to link something and use it to attack me, try reading it first next time k? thx!

take a deep breath, try to focus. your reading comprehension is deteriorating.
re-read my post, it says explictly "on the orange-revolution".

experience from? figured you'd be able to connect the dots.
that the us has funneled resources is not an unsupported assertion, come on. i already posted this piece earlier.

that they are more directly involved is speculation on my part, but i think it's not a strech of the imagination and even was stated outright by what i assume is a knowledgeable source. hence what you highlighted from putins speach doesn't justify 'him losing his mind', even though other parts might. i wouldn't know.

cry about 'dishonest' being ad hom? thought you were tougher than that.

Nice article about the Crimean Russian view on the west.

It is becoming more and more apparent that a large part of the russian population seriously believe that we are somehow out to get them.

Just look at some of the interviews posted here on TL and with the UN special envoy Robert Serry.

They seriously believe it because that's what their media tells them. There isn't freedom of the press or freedom of expression in Russia, so it's hard to really blame them. I hear people in North Korea think the same, though they have it much worse. I am surprised at the comments of Russians on TL, I thought being constantly on the internet would have given them a little bit better understanding of their own propaganda system (in the same way I learn more about the US's propaganda system).

Btw, Turkish media reported this morning, that Turkish officials had given permission for the passage of an US ship into the Black Sea.
From what I read about it, they talked about 'a ship' in singular, so it would not be the GHWBush-Carriergroup, as reported yesterday by US media sources... Anyone has any details on it?

@DeepElemBlues

"maybe some Poles could explain how the US ate them up"

Funny you ask. 70-90% of our trade, industry and banking are owned by western capital. The vast majority of profits are transfered out of the country. Our wage share in GDP is 2-3 lower than that of "the West" with no hope of getting any better.

I few times watched this episod, and I agree with you, man. Sure bullets may changes direction when hit some material, but the direction of the hole in the shield looks like you sad.

Markov concedes that the specter of a Nazi takeover is overblown. “Of course it wouldn’t take the same radical forms as in Nazi Germany. But they have a plan to turn Ukraine into Latvia or Estonia: Russians becoming second-tier citizens, Russian language banned.”

“Had Putin failed to request permission [from parliament] to use force [in Ukraine], NATO would have gone much further than Rostov and Kursk—it would have been in Moscow. The goal of those who staged a coup d’etat in Kiev is to bring the likes of [Russian opposition leaders] Nemtsov and Navalny to power in Moscow. Russia would have been simply carved up,”

Another MP, Vladimir Nikitin, waxed apocalyptic in an article on Ukraine for the regional website Pskovskaya Lenta. “The main battle of World War III is under way in Ukraine,” he writes. “The aggressor is Western civilization, which includes the U.S. and Europe.” After a long, unhinged rant, he concludes: “The American-style globalization has already led to a global crisis and may still lead to the demise of humanity.”
