Jun "TY" Tae Yang did not re-sign with Jin Air Greenwings (formerly Team 8) after his contract expired at the end of August, thus he became a free agent. After negotiations KeSPA announced today that he has signed with KT Rolster.
Curious that Jin Air sponsoring still meant that a lot of players quit the team or retired. I guess they want to focus on LoL and really want to limit the SC2 team to like 7 people?
Now we have Flash, TY, Stats, Wookie. A great 4 major! So I think it's great news for KT, but... Kt definitely need a better zerg roster now... a KT Mafia Zerg Lefty please come back soon soon soon
i still remember back in WCS season 1 finals when innovation asked ty for practice, naturally i sit behind ty and see him play, just to see he winning 3-0 without much effort.
hes is unvelibable gosu at sc2 he was rank #1 on team ranking everysingle time with like 3 loses
Didnt Wemade Fox made a decision between baby and flash before, and they eventually chose baby. Now they are on the same team again. Full Circle. I approve of this signing.

Probably not, they probably just bought the KeSPA team to get some easy League teams. Which really sucks for the SC2 players, that's why you see so many of them retire or move to different teams :/
well it's not like at this point we have a whole lot of teams to choose from but this pretty much confirms that the top 3 of the next proleague will be some form of KT-SKT1-WJS in any given order
Great for KT, not so much for Team 8/Jin Air. I'm a bit worried about how well Jin Air will do next season. They already lost Argo/Jaehoon, and they were tied for the worst record last season. It doesn't bode well. Fingers crossed that Jin Air can sign a good player or two.

As a SKT fan, I wish they picked up someone like that after all the recent retirements.
SKT signed Classic, who has looked very good since switching to Protoss.
This is an obvious grab for Flash to practice his TvT. Among other things, I'm sure they're glad to have him but it's sort of obvious after flash losing DH yesterday to MMA why they have TY.
KT Coach: "We want to achieve a multiplying effect between TY and Flash. Also buying TY is to boost the atmosphere of SC2, to make fans more active when watching." Source: http://s.163.com/13/0916/18/98TO7RGD00314Q8N.html
I really wanted KT to pick Classic up when STX died. I was very depressed and disappointed when it was announced that SKT got him instead. Now I understand why KT let him go just like that .

-.- People have the shortest memories. Flash had the best record in proleague last season by a significant margin.
However TY was a monster toward the end of PL. His HotS migjt've even matched Flash's.
Not really, Flash went 25-10 and ended on a streak, Baby went 18-13.
Yea, let compare a "cherry on a cake" player (Flash) with pretty much Atlas carrying his team of underdogs without a sponsor.
Flash has all his BW career behind him but his recent results don't indicate that he is one of the very best terrans around. TY may very well match him in terms of performance and results if not outshine him.
Awesome news! Baby has been in the dark too long! Really hope he can get some games in proleague now and hopefully he'll be able to go to foreign events as well!
Ty is Baby ? well it seems still Green Air thing is a lowbuged sc2 team. Epic for KT Rolster and lucky for us, i could have seen him retire but it seems terrans not do so ^^

wtf is a 'cherry on a cake' player? Flash is the cake and KT would be an unsponsorable team of underdogs without him. Besides, it's the offseason, a month or two ago he was easily a top 3 terran and will be again once team houses are back in full swing for proleague. 3 consecutive Code S Ro16's is also pretty good for a player that's meant to be slumping.
Its a good pick up but Jin Air really has an awful roster. I wonder what is going on or are they just leaving the SC2 team as just a bit of a lower level team intentionally?

Let me guess, you were not around when Flash was called "Child Labor Terran".
What lots of SC2 people fail to understand is how much Flash had to work to reach his status.

I'm not what you consider "SC2" people - maybe I wasn't around when sAviOr was beating people left and right, but I was around when Jaedong was fearsome Tyrant and Flash was yet to reach his level of play. I'm not discussing Flash's status - how possibly could you extract that kind of sentiment from my original statement is beyond me - but rather pure skill at the moment.
I'm glad this guy gets more exposure. I remember baby showcasing some great play at the end of wol and it came back to me like yesterday and made me wonder why I haven't heard anything from him since then.

All this BaBy talk. I was tired of it back in BW. The kid has never truly lived up to the hype, ok? This pick-up by KT is lukewarm for me. We used to praise the guy all the time back in BW and he did well but he never really broke out back then and he hasn't really done anything noteworthy yet in SC2. With that said he's a solid performer, but considering teams are cutting their rosters down to the bare bones? I don't know. Long gone are the days where you sign a few big stars and then surround them with guys like BaBy. KT wanted another Terran so they got another Terran good for them, but in all honesty if the rosters were staying the same size I don't like KT's chances anymore than I did when the last PL season started. That's the truth and I'm sticking to it.

Inb4 ForGG goes back to Kt... nah, not happening, he was slumping on it, cause Kt Flash' Flash
Hm, quite the surprising pickup. Very good for KT obviously, but it makes me wonder how T8/GreenWings intends to reinforce its roster. It wasn't a strong team before, and now robbed of their best Terran...hmmmm...won't improve their chances. I hope they intend to pick up some more good players, preferably fresh blood from ESF teams who actually want to play the game and don't keep moaning about their former glory.

Calling Flash a "cherry on a cake" player is very unfair. Until the time Stats and Violet stepped up and backed up Flash, the KT was a liability to Flash. He was known for being probably the most overworked player in KeSPA. Having to practice for two Proleague games per match, plus OSL and MSL, Flash was hardly sitting comfortably on top of a team able to support him.

rofl so true. it's amazing how much people forget things around here and just flock to the top finishers of the latest tournaments. innovation couldn't even touch flash's record when he was absolutely dominating the game. innovation was close but no cigar
