Korean Crowd Size Comparison: SC2 GSL Finals vs BW SSL Finals on the same day [Jun. 1st]

On Jun 1st 2013, we have two Starcraft finals in Korea. One is a SC2 finals, the GSL/WCS KR finals, and the other is a BW finals, the SSL finals. They are not at the same day so people can go to SC2 finals first and then go to the BW finals. We may remember BW tournament SSL finals had a crazily large crowd last time, but it seems like the situation is changed or some other factors are in effect. SC2's crowd size in Korea has been bad for quite a while and many people on TL have expressed their sympathies. But it looks like this time, things are quite different. I'm not sure why this is so, but, nevertheless, these are some comparisons of crowd size of these two finals.

Is it really a fair comparison though? You gotta consider the players in each of these finals, because really, the toughest BW competition has all switched for the most part, although hero and hiya are obviously exceptions.

It's a just comparison of what it is. What are the explanations for this difference? I don't have an answer. This is left for people here to discuss and debate.

I'm sure your explanations are not correct since last time the SSL had a crazily large crowd, and it was when BW players already transition into SC2.

I would hope that a huge Sc2 final in conjunction with it being a WCS final would bring in more people than a non-Kespa BW final (though YellOw showmatch probably helped with that).

Your comparing a game that was released in Nov of 1998 to a game that was officially released in March of 2013. I would hope the newer game had a better crowd size.

This was the SSL crowd at the beginning of the day. Did a lot of people leave before the end or something?

Maybe it's because it's too long and too late into the night? The finals are at the end.
