Hearing how he described the deal, I think it's a lot more about the extra-financial support the team will give him. Ever seen his stream? His entire channel along with LAGTV is supported by viewer donations. People have given him thousands (literally, a dude gave him $1337.00 a few weeks back since the guy said he would after a year of the military). His stream community is very tight-knit and all the little donations they give add up. Unlike most chats, you can go on his and have a conversation because so many of the viewers are regulars. Allow me to paraphrase you: have you ever even read my post? You are talking about his total earnings. I'm talking about his salary on his new team.
By the way, yes, I have seen his stream. In fact, I donate money myself every now and again.

Haven't watched in awhile but as somebody that's watched WCF since season one, you've come a long way. Congratz!

Disband of ItsGoSu incoming. That's what I'm hoping at least. But I'm pretty confident of this since MaximusBlack has a 100 percent ratio on killing off the teams he has been on. Not too surprising actually since only teams which are in need of some cheap media attention pick him up anyway. Why else would you pick-up an NA midmaster player who has been streaming for month without a tiny bit of progress. It is actually beyond me how up to 1500 people can be watching a stream of him going for all-ins on the ladder or playing some random casual games. Must be the same thing like pop music. Shit sells for gold as long as there are retarted people who hype it up.
The most retarded people are the ones actually donating money. They really have to lack a chminey...... Why not give it to decent actually hard working pros who struggle to make a buck but keep the level of sc2 high by grinding tons of games on the ladder.

I didn't even know It's Gosu was still a team. Haven't heard anything at all from them in months, not to mention most of their roster is gone.

And why not? If someone wants to buy it...?
You've got as much right to look down on those people as they have the right to choose the entertainment that suits them best.

Could have sworn Gosu disbanded a bit ago... but hey gj having a team

Imagine the scene would be composed of 100% MaximusBlacks. We would have a game not worth watching or playing. Supporting somebody like him is promoting this. And that's not all: Of course he is free to stream whatever he wants but why for gods sake is he featured on teamliquid? He's done nothing for the progress of SC2 and half of the time he is not even playing SC2 on his stream....so why is he featured?

I've been clearing the roster to make room for new blood, more announcements to come!

So many cheap pot-shots at ItsGosu for some reason going down here, wow.
Congrats to both parties; hopefully the partnership works out for you both.

OK, just kidding. I think it's a good team for him to develop in. A few rather high quality players he can learn from, but it's not a high profile team such as EG or Liquid, where he'd be completely overshadowed. I believe he made a good decision and both sides will benefit. The most important think, in my opinion, is that his team not put too much pressure on him regarding his tournament results. ROOT would also be a reasonable choice, but if I were in his shoes, I'd probably go for Gosu, too. Whoa whoa whoa D:

dont forget apocalypse it is already on the liquipedia page for itsGosu

I wouldn't want the scene to be 100% MaximusBlack. But I also wouldn't want 100% IdrA, 100% WhiteRa (well, at least people would be nice to one another) or 100% MC. Professional sports requires the presence of people who stand out, either naturally or by putting on an act. And apparently, there are people to whom MaximusBlack appeals, and I'm one of them (to an extent, cause I honestly sometimes ragequit his stream), so... let them have their pick.

This kind of goes back to the whole Check Six disbanding thing. Teams that need to pick up people like MaximusBlack are teams that need the exposure that a personality bring but teams like EG and TL know how to make players personalities, aka market their players. When you can't market your players and have to rely on people like MB then you know you're in a bad spot. Not to mention it's terrible for players who are actually good at the game and put time and effort into getting that good to be overlooked because someone with no skill and a popular stream.

As I said he is free to do whatever he wants. That doesn't explain at all though why people feel the need to donate money to him instead of giving it to players who actually DO SOMETHING WORTHWHILE. I also watched his stream in the beginning because he had pretty high ambtions. I have no idea what is even remotely entertaining about him. Aside from cheesy mediocre play he talks down everybody who beats him because everything is OP that is not protoss. I genuinely quit his stream and never come back after seeing him going for some completely retarded ballsack ceremony in which he put a teabag on his pants and held it in the camera.
People have to have REALLY LOW STANDARDS to be even remotely entertained by him. I dra for example has the bm and the rage but he also has remarkable skill. MaximusBlack has....welll...nothing.

Gladly though the free market goes to show. Every team he has been on has disbanded. Hopefully itsGosu will be no exception.
