Actually:

"Rep. Adam Schiff (D-Calif.) said Wednesday that the House Intelligence Committee has an “abundance” of information that is not yet public, including evidence that President Trump's campaign colluded with Russia and that his administration obstructed justice.

“There is certainly an abundance of non-public information that we’ve gathered in the investigation. And I think some of that non-public evidence is evidence on the issue of collusion and some ... on the issue of obstruction,” Schiff said, according to The Guardian."

Schiff has been saying this since last summer basically. If you ignore Nunes ignore Schiff.

I think there are a lot of weird societal dynamics in play. The psychology of tribalism doesn't make it very easy to suddenly declare "your team" did something bad. You have to massage people into having some amount of open mindedness before anyone is ever willing to say the tribe they identify with may have done something bad.

Uh... no. One is working for the WH, the other is performing an investigation. Equating the two is the dumbest shit I've seen posted in this thread (and I've seen a lot of dumb shit).

Don't even try to play that game.

Russian meddling has been the official government position since when, Dec 2016?

Yes, Schiff had provided great evidence that he's an impartrial truth seeker.

Depends on what your vague "official government position" line means.Trump has always denied it, so does that make it still unofficial? Regardless, it's been going on a lot longer.

Depends on how you define official and how you define meddling. The government (absent Trump and toadies) has been in pretty much lockstep since October 2016 on the issue (joint intelligence statement). starting with the DNC hacks and continuing on.

I think more than anything these indictments are to try to make things harder for similar interventions in the midterms (especially since we recently had congressional testimony that we're wholly unprepared). We'll see though.

Look at the date on the story. It was around end 2016 that they publicly said something, if memory serves.

I mean, the Justice Department has been investigating interference (which we pretty much all knew happened), and now they've come out and said "yeah, so that definitely happened". It's a bit of a formality, but one that I think matters. Now you have the official Trump line vs the official Justice Dept line out there.

It was released before that on the Home Land Security website, the day the access Hollywood story broke. Internally it was the position of the government for longer, but they did not want to appear to be influencing the election by bringing up top until that date.

It was September I think. I'll have to dig a bit. The fact remains that it was going on for years. And while it was originally intended to just sow discord and distrust in one another and the process, at some point it changed to getting Trump elected. Given what we already know, like statements from Papadapolous offering to set up a meeting with Putin, it looks increasingly likely that this conspiracy involved the campaign. It's practically certain simply based on publicly available information and reporting. We are just waiting for the official word is all.

The Mueller investigation is not the same as the DoJ.
It ignores such insignificant forces as time, entropy, and death

Edit: Nvm misread.

With Gates also dealing soon, things are going to get interesting soon I feel.

Also, glad to see this indictment in light of our Russian interference argument on these forums recently. Everyone knows they were involved. Well, except maybe Trump.

Rosenstein came out and did a presser about it. He's the head of the DoJ, so him saying it even if it was because of the Mueller investigation pretty much makes it the official line.

The best part of reading through the indictment so far has been the naming of the twitter account, @TEN_GOP. I know i had to tell Danglars at least once how bullshit that account was when he linked their tweet about CNN coverage. Hilarious.
