I mean, the republicans can't even cobble together a budget within their own party. and a deal for a cr is a far cry from a deal on the larger issues. and it's not like we have a responsible republican party.

I would like to thank Nancy Pelosi for her kind contribution to the "Keep Congress Red" campaign. This would be two donations in the past few days! Republicans love putting her their ads since no one likes her. But I'm still like 90% there is no shut down for any meaningful period of time. Schumer would be sad and Which is prob true.

On a more amusing note, Rand Paul apparently likes to attack studies he thinks sound dumb. But the thread is fun.

I don't know if they're subservient or what, but there is a definite lack of follow-up. It seems Trump can literally just fly away and physically dodge from ever answering a serious question on so many troubling stories and allegations. Which says he's guilty, of course, but it's pathetic to see the media relatively comply with this selective amnesia. On February 09 2018 05:20 Plansix wrote: To be fair to reporters in the US on Trump, it is impossible for them to get an interview with him. The last time someone got an interview it was a Times reporter that didn’t even know Trump allow himself to be interview answer questions and had not prepared at all. Does the president ever have to defend his decisions before congress? With him being allowed to dodge media completely is there even any way for 'the people' to question him? The fact that Trump can do/say so many stupid things without ever having to answer or for it, or at least explain his reasoning, is one of the weirdest things to me. I'll admit I don't really know if this is Trump bending unwritten rules or if the office of president was always this 'invulnerable' to public accountability.

This sums up Rand Paul right now. And a lot of Republicans worried about the debt.

First, he doesn't do a lot of press conferences but when he does they are very long, and he talks to reporters impromptu a decent amount as well. Second, the answer to your question is no. He is the third separate, complete branch of government. Presidents keep their distance and almost never go to the chambers of Congress.
