It's an interesting idea... and a lot of people already knew prior to announcement. It's a pretty good example of privileged information that was "leaked", but as long as no one runs afoul of insider treading or other regulations, no one is gonna get in trouble for telling their buddy.

It's not the sort of thing that can be proven conclusively, but there is a lot of evidence that people being upset about having a black president was a significant driving force behind the Tea Party movement: Since its rapid rise in early 2009, scholars have advanced a variety of explanations for popular support for the Tea Party movement. Here we argue that various political, economic, and demographic trends and events – e.g., the election of the first nonwhite president, the rising minority population – have been perceived as threatening the relative standing of whites in the U.S., with the resulting racial resentment fueling popular support for the movement. ... Study 5 showed that threatened white respondents reported stronger support for the Tea Party when racialized aspects of its platform (e.g., opposition to immigration) were highlighted, than if libertarian ones (e.g., reduced government spending) were. These findings are consistent with a view of popular support for the Tea Party as resulting, in part, from threats to the status of whites in America. Threats to Racial Status Promote Tea Party Support Among White Americans There's lots of research on this. It appears pretty likely that racial resentment against non-whites is a significant predictor of Tea Party support.

Now that its gotten him into an Obstruction investigation it was everyone's idea but his own.

Remember, firms that used to represent him sent to two attorneys to meetings because Trump lied so much.

And Sessions was not willing to go to bat to say it was on Rosenstein at his testimony (he limited himself to saying it wasn't his decision). Also, Trump's numerical illiteracy continues-he has 30 million twitter followers, not 100 million. No wonder he can't read more than one page.

Would not surprise me if he is under the impression Twitter suppresses his "real" number of followers.
