There is also the black bloc, who will show up for any large protest in driving distance of Portland and god knows where else.
This stuff is going to get worse before it gets better. Lots of people have lost a lot of faith in systems and administrations to protect them from harm. Even if their feelings of fear are completely irrational, it is real to them. People perceive reality to be more dangerous than it is and our leaders are doing little to dissuade that belief. Whether it is the Trump supporter or the progressive protester, there are people who no longer feel like institutions have their back.

It's not even the nepotism or corruption here, it's that Trump believe it is his right to attack out against those that attack his brand (or in this case his daughter's brand). There was an article around the election that pointed out this very concern. That with Trump hotels all around the world an attack on one of them would be strung together as an attack on America. The way this Ivanka thing is being handled really makes that sort of scenario much more plausible in a very scary way.
This is why ethics experts said Trump and his family need to divest. This won't stop and is the exact reason why every other president has divested in the past.

I'm mostly enjoying the chaos in a nation-schadenfreude sort of way. You have to survive sometimes.

People of color with families on green cards and visas don't find the lack of guidance and resistance to trump from the house and senate funny.

Trump is done for I think, the latest twitter attack on mcain is the straw that will break the camels back so to say. All this tweeting, its fun at the start but after a while it is a bit ridiculous. Very unpresidential,he just can,t let go. Its a bit of a disappointment I have to admit.

Yes, that is not lost on me.

You'd think if there was anything to bring the party together and unite all the disparate factions (and snipe off a demo or two at the same time) that resistance to trump would be it.
Granted Bernie sanders isn't the guy who will win a presidential campaign in four years but hes the perfect reliever to wag the flag for the midterm before he crowns Joe Biden to lead the crusade forward.

Just sent off another 200 page document stack with $680 to renew it for another two years three days ago. I'm genuinely considering not leaving the country until I get citizenship due to shit like my opposition to Trump on social media. Low chance of anything happening but a huge potential downside. This government fluctuates rapidly between funny and sad.

And people like Milo who gleefully watches as his speeches and actions lead to people fearing harassment or worse have not helped. The acceptance or indifference to this person as a champion of "free speech" has not helped. The indifference to David Duke and Richard Spencer. So now we have reached a point where the lefts indifference to harassment and fear is equal. Where the left doesn't really care if anti-fascist are straight up bad.
And now we just wait to come out the other side.

I think Warren belongs in the Senate. She lacks the charm that would be needed to become President.

I don't know if she will run for president to be honest. She has been pretty open about liking the Senate.

The GOP House and Senate have yet to cement their power so they still have a use for him.

They are not going to get shit done with him in office.
