I really can't believe you are celebrating the win of Trump. This is such a sad day. Liberal here, liberal there. Do you know what that term even means?

This is my favourite. The depth of the irony is sublime.

I get people don't like the (political) establishment but to vote for such a disgusting man, I get conservatism but to still vote for someone so ignorant..

Good luck running from prison. As someone who might be in the minds of some "a rabid Clinton hater", I don't think she did anything that really justifies imprisoning her. She's just a politician with some poor judgement on some affairs and too much disingenuity (is that word?).

1. STOP, for the LOVE of GOD, STOP peddling identity politics. Trump voters - working class people - despise it. They know what you're doing - it's obvious.
2. STOP treating ethnicity, gender, sexuality and religion as a proxy for class warfare; you are trying to displace them by creating a new under-class and stoking ethnocentrism, gynocentrism and tribalism for the purpose of manufacturing a new electorate and a globalised, supranational governance that NO-ONE wants.
3. STOP speaking about groups, start speaking about individuals (you know, actual liberalism).
4. Stop polarising ALL debate. Just because you aren't rabidly pro-feminism, it doesn't make you a misogynist. Just because you aren't rabidly in favour of the EU, it doesn't make you a fascist. Just because you don't support black lives matter, it doesn't make you a white supremacist. Just because you don't support SSM, it doesn't make you a homophobe.
5. Stop pushing mass immigration for the purposes of creating a new electorate. They know what you're doing. Every minority group in the UK is opposed to mass immigration. Even Hispanics are opposed to mass immigration, and are more conservative - on a policy basis - and religious than white males.
6. Stop preaching cultural relativism; if you oppose something for one identity, oppose it for ALL identities. Murder doesn't suddenly become more acceptable because the perpetrator is Islamic; sexism doesn't become more acceptable because the perpetrator is female; racism doesn't become more acceptable because the hatred is being spewed at white men.
Get it? Until all of this STOPS, until we start to assign rights and responsibilities at the level of the individual and not the group, until all of the incessant shaming, self-loathing and guilt-tripping subsides, this will get infinitely worse. should be upvoted more :p
Thats actualy something i could get behind, my thoughts are maybe not the same but pretty similiar.

If you think this was a good vs evil election and good lost you need to get your head outta your ass.
Jesus Christ rude much?
I'm with Miragee, i hate this bipartisan notion that being liberal is evil. All it means is being open to new ideas. I absolutely hate that that term is smeared by a left-right association and anti-intellectual movement.
It's a sad day because we're ending 8 years worth of a solid progressive movement led by Obama, if Trump is actually going to repeal same-sex marriage, for example. Can you really not empathise with people who have something to lose, like TotalBiscuit's cancer treatments if Trump repeals Obamacare?

No, this is a glorious day. This is a much needed wake up call.

I think you can blame neoliberals for the corruption of that term. It definitely no longer JUST represent "being open to new ideas" if you include that particular group.

Not to mention 20+ million could see they no longer have Healthcare come next year, preexisting conditions back in force and Health Insurance premiums skyrocket.
Not really worried about the Paris Treaty as the rest of the world has said they will honor it and even China has said they will try and surpass said goals. It's the United States that's fucked especially the South i.e. Florida, not to mention the rest of the world will continue to do business with Iran while we teeter on economic collapse and NAFTA being torn apart.

The Obamacare that is going downhill has the prizes are going uphill in rapid fashion? The Obamacare that is disliked by more people then Trump has voters? The Obamacare that is a failed way of getting health care for everyone? Trump never said he will vanish Obamacare, he will "replace" it. Whatever it means, it is a chance. Lets see if it works out.
The same-sex marriage will stay as it is, even with one new guy in the supreme court. How does he want to repeal it when the SOTUS said it must exist? Impossible fearmongering.

See, you need to get your head out of your ass. It seems like you think everyone who doesn't like Trump is for Hillary. First off, I'm not from the US. Secondly, I think Hillary was a terrible candidate all this time. If you throw around lies and ride on weak accusations like "you don't vote for me because you are sexist" you sure as hell deserve to lose. It's still a sad day because someone like Trump could become the president of the US. And I don't understand protest voters who voted for Trump. Why would you vote for a candidate who is a maniac and whos policies you don't agree with? If you want to protest-vote, and I think you have every right to do so, why not vote for a third-party candidate?
