The better term is probably "pragmatism".
For example, a social conservative would say drugs are bad because they're morally wrong. A social liberal would say drugs should be allowed because people should have the right to decide their own actions and control their own bodies.
A "realist" wouldn't care about the moral or ethical rights, and would only care that trying to control drugs is impossible and causes more issues than it solves.

He already admitted that he sexually assaults women and this case has been building for some time. The court documents are out there. The only reason the news media has not covered it was that they didn’t’ know the plaintiff’s name.
Weirdly enough, this thing has been out there for 4 months and the Trump camp as not tried to discredit it or find out who filed it. They have just sort of ignored it and push all the deadlines until after the election.
