That said, it's still early, and the internet still has plenty of time to dig up absurd shit he's said or done.

I've actually been right about Republicans more often than Dems this election, maybe I should vote for Trump ![]()

They made Craigslist posts on fake Trump jobs talking about women needing to be hot for the job and "maintain hotness" https://wikileaks.org/dnc-emails/emailid/12803 Relevant to all the DNC controversy going on in how they mistreated Sanders The Chairperson shall exercise impartiality and evenhandedness as between the Presidential candidates and campaigns. The Chairperson shall be responsible for ensuring that the national officers and staff of the Democratic National Committee maintain impartiality and evenhandedness during the Democratic Party Presidential nominating process. http://s3.amazonaws.com/uploads.democrats.org/Downloads/DNC_Charter__Bylaws_9.17.15.pdf

I could think of a dozen Bernie supporters I've already talked to who if I said it was okay to support Trump they would happily hop aboard. Saying "I didn't support Trump until this black guy talked me into it" is a great out for white people who were already considering it but felt like it would make them racist. Hillary folks should be thanking me for listening to Hillary and Ted and voting my conscience. But who knows, maybe Trump suggests he just said what he said to get where he is and convinces both sides he's just saying what it takes to win and he wins. As I pointed out before, based on how he's lived his life, one could argue that ends up with a much less bigoted GOP president that's only going to screw a lot of people out of a lot of money. Not to mention, he would make a much better opponent for a progressive in 2020 than Hillary's reelection. And no joke, it's been a consistent theme of Trump supporters being more welcoming than Hillary supporters despite me being just as hard on him as I am on her (though I don't bother piling on most of the time). That's not unique to here either, Trump supporters are all "Yeah, they borked ya, I know you don't agree with everything but Trump's not bowing to the chamber of commerce or others on trade or campaign finance (the obvious move for him is to limit personal spending, killing two birds with one stone)." Meanwhile Hillary supporters are all "Well you fu**ing lost, suck it up and vote for her or else!" I mean, I actually have a clue about the serious (imo) problems with Trump beyond the crap about being Hitler, 'ists, etc... So the spite and such isn't likely to drive me to vote for Trump, but I've already seen some major Bernie folks (usually the more independent/angry ones) who already had enough and are selling Bernie folks on Trump as we speak. Spoiler alert: + Show Spoiler + It's working about as well as Hillary up to this Kaine pick, since then it's gotten worse for Hillary.

Looks like a plant for the media. And of course, this forecloses the possibility of there being very bad things to report on about Trump. I can't forget to keep my cognitive bias in check. EDIT: I guess it could be either a very dumb plant or a weird joke.

He offers pretty much nothing else to the ticket. It's just a safe pick, I think. Not that picking Kaine has anything to do with a "milquetoast".
