I'm all for free speech, even being a piece of shit if that's REALLY what you want to do. But I've never understood this delusion that being on twitter or whatever site is some sort of right. The guy is a scumbag of the highest order to be sure and he played with fire for attention. I sort of agree twitter taking away his check mark was childish, not because I agree with the man at all but it's just petty. At that point you either ban him entirely or don't do anything IMO. Taking a verification check just makes it so people can impersonate you if you're a figure with stature which he was. That's just grade school BS. Equally as childish is going to the white house to cry about it like a baby, come on now.
The only real argument I've seen that's remotely compelling is they ban him but they let accounts that are openly supporting terrorism slide. The only counter argument there is that maybe the FBI or someone tells twitter to let those accounts slide so they can continue monitoring them. But yeah, ideally that sort of thing shouldn't fly either.

Are you accusing the left leaning people in this thread of harassing Melania Trump? Or supporting the harassment?

Being verified provides a bunch of features that are useful for anyone who uses twitter in a professional fashion. Removing it wasn't' just symbolic, it removed a lot of the functionality of twitter as a serve for him.

That's a patently absurd tweet.
For starters that a grand total of 1007 people, oh boy! Secondly who on the left is condoning any of that? I sure as fuck haven't seen them. People ripped on the speech but everyone I've seen has kept it respectful as to her herself. Not wanting to shit on her, she's seen as a victim of a awful speechwriter.

According to the company, the permanent suspension isn’t a matter of speech as much as a matter of behavior — specifically, a violation of Twitter’s rules regarding the targeted abuse of specific users. Here’s the statement, according to a Twitter spokesperson: People should be able to express diverse opinions and beliefs on Twitter. But no one deserves to be subjected to targeted abuse online, and our rules prohibit inciting or engaging in the targeted abuse or harassment of others. Over the past 48 hours in particular, we’ve seen an uptick in the number of accounts violating these policies and have taken enforcement actions against these accounts, ranging from warnings that also require the deletion of Tweets violating our policies to permanent suspension. We know many people believe we have not done enough to curb this type of behavior on Twitter. We agree. We are continuing to invest heavily in improving our tools and enforcement systems to better allow us to identify and take faster action on abuse as it’s happening and prevent repeat offenders. We have been in the process of reviewing our hateful conduct policy to prohibit additional types of abusive behavior and allow more types of reporting, with the goal of reducing the burden on the person being targeted. We’ll provide more details on those changes in the coming weeks.
Not that I like using buzzfeed as a source, but they were the ones with the quotes so...

Are the democrats worried about the "black vote" at all? They seem to be banking on the black vote to put them over the top and they have been strong with that minority but with all the recent trouble with the police and black lives matter, I don't see how they will be motivated to go out and vote in the first place. They wont vote trump, they just wont vote at all. Well that's my guess, I think turnout of black voters might be low this election. Then they also want to go for the latino vote with a potential latino vp. But the latinos they pretty religious catholic and pro life. I don't see them making the switch to the democrats. So that's how I think trump could win, a low turn out of black voters due to being very disappointed with "the system" in general.

hispanics switching to democrats? Aren't they pretty stable at least 60/40 in favor of the dems?

Twitter, who cares about twitter. Everything on twitter is forgotten the next day. Democrats aren't worried about losing the black vote, it's mainly about the level of turnout they get and how close they can come to Obama's numbers (Hillary obviously won't beat them). Black vote breaking 90%+ for the democrats is pretty normal.
The best poll for Trump on hispanics had his number at 33% with them, but that's a much higher number than the other polls have found, and Romney/Mccain were a fair bit lower.

I was under the impression calling other blacks Uncle Tom was racist itself. It has become a derogatory term since the book was written, not doubt. I don't see how it is inherently a racist term, although I suppose it could be used in a racist way. But I'm not sure why it would be intrinsically racist.
