He's not a weekly church goer, in terms of religion he's about as moderate as you can get in American politics. I've been reading of evangelicals that are deeply upset about Trump over his treatment of people general, and women in particular. I hope this is true. They think he is misogynist. Evangelicals, men and women both, hit this note particularly hard. “He has bragged numerous times about having sexual affairs with married women. He is on his third marriage, to a woman who made a career out of objectifying her own body. … His pandering attempt to sell himself as a Christian is disgraceful and demeaning.” Take this as you will as it is not exactly scientific, but it is an interesting perspective: http://www.bloombergview.com/articles/2016-02-29/the-die-hard-republicans-who-say-nevertrumpThe actual letters: http://media.bloomberg.com/bb/avfile/rmZuTh0zj1l8 Sounds like you're reading stuff from the anti-Trump establishment. One of the biggest stories of the election so far is that evangelicals have been flocking to Trump over Cruz, which no one expected. It's not so much that I've been reading anti-Trump stuff, so much as highly interested in where evangelicals are swinging- on the Calvinist side of things, I've heard nothing but disdain for Trump, but that's highly anecdotal. Here's an actual survey of protestant pastors, but that doesn't account for the congregation, which could very well be turning to Trump. http://www.christianitytoday.com/gleanings/2016/january/donald-trump-protestant-pastors-undecided-president-iowa.htmlMajority undecided, then Cruz, then Carson, then Rubio, with Trump at 5%. 1000 surveyed, 95% confidence. Why are you looking at pre-primary polls instead of exit polls from the actual primary states? Go look at what happened in South Carolina. Because I hadn't found an equivalent poll so recent that dealt with something like protestant pastors.

There are very real problems with rates of incarceration, poverty and all the rest disproportionately affecting minorities when all other variables are adjusted, but when you have some entitled college kid who complain about there not being enough black faculty it turns off a lot of potential allies.
Separately, I think Hillary has the opportunity to pick up some moderate religious republicans. She quoted 1 Corinthians 13 in her SC speech (my favorite Bible passage actually) which was kinda neat. There's a possibility she picks up some moderates on the right side by pushing her religious bona fides as opposed to Trump who apparently subscribes to the Church of Donald.
she has religious bona fides? who could possibly believe that hillary is a religious person?

hillary is kind of awkwardly placed on some of these issues to fully fight trump. she's fairly pro trade until recently due to having to appeal to leftists in her own party not having a clue. trump will talk about nafta and that is pretty connected to the clinton brand. it will at least get people curious enough to take the hook on his economic message.
there is also the potential to target trump's anti-muslim angle. hillary is fairly pro-enforcement which helps, but the proper tactic here is basically fear mongering and baiting trump into some ridiculously fascist position that he probably totally will take. not sure if hillary can troll trump enough for him to self destruct.

I actually want Hillary to pull ALL her stops/connection to fight vs Trump and I want to see Trump doing the same too.

I don't get why people are still arguing over who's going to be the president. There's two choices: Bernie or Hillary. The reps have already lost. Trump has pretty much secured the nomination. xDaunt is saying that Trump could win the presidency. Historically, this means that Trump has no chance .

Black people and legal immigrants have the most to gain from the deportation of 10 million illegals. Millions of jobs will open up for low-skill workers, meaning black people that haven't gone far with their education can get off welfare and start earning money. Money that can be used to finance their children's higher education, money that stops black youth from resorting to crime to make ends meet. Within 2 generations the entire black population of the US will live a vastly better lifestyle than today. Not to mention the $113 billion that would be saved every year. http://www.fairus.org/publications/the-fiscal-burden-of-illegal-immigration-on-united-states-taxpayers
What a pipe dream. Those jobs are still shit that pay shit. A lot of people still greatly need welfare benefits when working those jobs. Its not like Illegals get fantastic paying jobs. Finance their childrens education? Lol middle class people can't even do that without taking out huge loans.

6 months ago, you would have been laughed off for saying Trump will earn the GOP nomination. Standard wisdom does not apply to 2016. We've been wrong so many times that I have lost faith in my ability to be right.

This is the battle of the bulge for the white supremacists and their sympathizers. It's causing a ruckus but they will be put in their place in due time.

Which really is the question I don't get about the liberals in this thread. By any metric or standard Bernie is a more liberal and progressive candidate. Hes also a candidate that couldn't compete against a serious republican opponent. Yet this once in a generation opportunity is being wasted on a middle of the road legacy from arguably a conservative democrat.

Not all of us didn't know Trump would win. The only chance they had to stop it was stopping him from getting enough delegates but that plan was dead in the water with Rubio unable to win in Florida (which all polling always suggested).

O, he sits high in all the people's hearts: And that which would appear offence in us, His countenance, like richest alchemy, Will change to virtue and to worthiness.

People under estimated the GOPs ability to lose the primary and the voter based they built for themselves during the Tea Party Boom.
