The real question is whether France is going to invoke NATO Article 5 and drag everyone into Syria.

They would have a lot of support since it has been up for Article 4 before.

And what exactly would that accomplish?
You don't defeat something like ISIS with armies. If you beat them on the field they just run back into the shadows and hide in the mountains and undercover amid the general population.

Dedicated terrorist/freedom fighter organizations are incredible hard to root out, that's why they still exist throughout the world.
Its easy for them to hide amid people and they require very little funds and materials to operate. Probably the easiest way is to dry up their recruitment grounds and that takes decades of politic and social improvement.
It ignores such insignificant forces as time, entropy, and death

NATO isn't really suited for a world where conflicts are fought in the minds of the people.

When the Western world is ready to get serious about it, NATO will do just fine.

Wonder if we will hear some chest thumping during the debate tonight.

Climate change is directly related to the rise of terror, ooookay Bernie, correlated certainly

And interesting but poor attempt to avoid talking about Clinton's SoS performance

I also think that the Republicans are probably thanking their lucky stars the Paris attacks were after their debate, and not before it, because it threw a lot of plans out the window.

None of these three people are actually speaking very well tonight, I dunno if I can make it through this

There seems to be an implication there that the NSA knew about the impending attacks in Paris and did nothing.

Or are you saying that the NSA has such a fearsome reputation that terrorists wouldn't even attempt to plan an attack on the US?

Even the french secret services "knew".

I am using the word "know" here to mean that people with power in the organization consciously recognized the threat and decided upon some course of action in relation to it.

The NSA "knows" pretty much everything if we only mean that they have access to information that would have told a person who knew what to look for exactly what was happening.

O'Malley actually just called Donald Trump an "immigrant-bashing carnival barker." What a world.

Sanders preaching the trickle-up economics...everyone fucking loves trickle-up.

This debate just went full clown mode

Sanders is falling apart

O'Malley actually just called Sanders "Bernie," good shit

unlike the french the u.s. intelligence community isn't that hesitant to take actions upon info, usually at the border.
the french didn't do anything to returnees from syria.

At least they aren't falling over each other with compliments this time. Looks like the others realize they have to actually do something to beat Hillary. Still, this is hilarious.

There's no way for the moderators to call her out very efficiently, and they do have to talk about other things/let the candidates try to whack her.

O'Malley can't because he has a Super PAC and Bernie can't call her out again because he'll be perceived as even more of a harping asshole

By the end of all these debates I wonder how many of the anti-Hillary leftists will still be saying that there should have been more. At this rate it doesn't seem to be working out as they hoped. IDK, there is time yet. I like watching this more as a passive observer.

How did she dodge it? Her point was that she gets donations from wall street because she was there for the communities and institutions that were hurt by 9/11. You can argue that's not the reason she gets donations, but she didn't dodge anything.

I can't believe she threw the 9/11 card and female card at the same time, she must of been shook.

Actually it helped instigate it immensely. What happened the year Arab Spring started? Drought and wildfires in Siberia where the Wheat belt is located forced Russian to suspend exports of wheat to Egypt, Syria and elsewhere. Flooding in Canada, and drought hampering the Wheat yields in the US. Prices start ticking up in the Middle East which was already seeing prolonged periods of drought forcing more and more into the cities.

Who were the first causalities of the Arab Spring those those that started protesting the bread lines and the price. The first chants mentioned bread not only in Syria, but also Egypt, and even parts of Iraq. So yes there is a correlation.
