I get that Korea doesn't approve of PDA (public displays of affection) and all, but it's still tame compared to what you would see at a club over in America.

Also, isn't this shit pretty much the same thing Americans did to Asians? http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/8/87/YellowTerror.jpg This is one of the modest ones, I remember seeing a lot more in Asian American class. I am glad that you're bringing this issue up, but you're doing it in an extremely one-sided way. Minorities are also constantly misrepresented in an harmful way in mainstream American media as well. This shit happens all over the world. You should post examples from different countries and discuss this problem in a bigger context.

It's existed all throughout the 20th century - and everyone's acting like it's never existed. Sexual relationships with the Natives were prohibited. The blacks were 'banned from cohabitation' with whites, and marriage with anyone of African descent was outright banned. It was considered felony. The Filipinos and the Malays got their share two decades later. Then the East Asians. Is it really surprising that shit like this aired in a country that places high values on tradition and conservatism? Lighten up, ffs. Just think of it as the whites had their share of women being stolen by large, masculine Black men, tried to stop it, realized they couldn't do shit about it; and now it's the Asian's turn. The men are all effeminate nerds who show nothing but spite and jealousy towards the success of the white man and seem to have no knowledge whatsoever on any topics relating to sex? Or how the women are all pure, exotic, untouched virgin princesses waiting for a white knight to deflower their sacred hymen and liberate them from their oppressive family/boyfriend by whisking them away to the land of freedom?

General concensus of Korean men is that they will NOT date girls who hang out in Itaewon and foreign exchange students (particularly the ones studying in Australia). This is because media and news always portrays them as sluts craving to get banged by foreigners. This is somewhat true. It is terrible thing to stereotype everyone but many english teachers in Korea (and many being completely unqualified failures) come here to get girls. There is even a site for english teachers on sharing the experience of banging korean chicks right? Also, last year or 2 years ago, video posted by a guy named "Black Quincy" fueled a fire on this where he posted bunch of videos of him banging several different chicks. Despite these sluts being a small sample, and definitely does not portray all the women, it definitely gives negative vibe towards the women in Itaewon and as a result, regular Korean men do dislike foreigners, especially the ones in Itaewon. Occasional rape by American soldiers don't help either.

You don't understand that seeing each other 8'ish hours every single day at school and then during free time too might be a tad bit too much? You would be spending more time with each other than most married couples. And by the way your assumption where you intented to "not to be rude" you actually were it's almost like saying to some one who says they don't have many friends "not to be rude or anything but you are probably just some sociopathic kid"

It's hilarious. American soldiers maybe commit crime couple times the whole year. The crime % of white foreigners are not even comparable to those from China. Good thing the general public's attention is now on China, because of flurry of recent murders/rapes by the Chinese. The fault is on both sides, hoebags who only likes to sleep with foreigners (and these are very minority, only in Itaewon prolly) and those who takes advantage of this. I honestly think this stereotype on foreigners is wrong (apart from the Chinese in Korea, too many crimes and problems to consider it only a portion of their population). But I also think you can't fault Korean men who watches news and hears bad things about what happens in Itaewon

It is NOTHING compared to the number of Korean or Chinese raping women in the entire country. But obviously, media busts it out and all hell goes to loose, with Bbal gaeng ee (North Korea followers) shouting "AMERICA OUT". What I'm saying is even those little things makes huge negative impact on the view on foreigners, just because media does it that way. It's hilarious. I believe it has happened eleven times in the past twelve years, which by any standard is still wildly unacceptable. Fortunately the latest assailant, a 21-year-old Army private, has been sentenced to ten years in prison. I can only hope this will serve as a warning and a deterrent in the future, as the American presence in South Korea is intended for safety and security and the rape of innocent women clearly counteracts this endeavor. Edit: Spelling error.
