Either way, I laughed. Xenophobia like that is common in much of Asia so it's not like it's surprising.

Oh em gee, worst trash evA! -_- Um, well reading the subtitles i don't know where the OP's disgust comes from? Unless he's upset because South Korea is becoming aware of a trend and he's worried they'll change and he won't get to hook up with as many women? Problem: Korean women are easy/puddy for foreigners (caucasions, it seems). This results in an increased frequency of Sexually transmitted diseases, or whatever they're calling them these days, as well as pregnancy where the father attempts to avoid responsibility. My Interpretation: It's kinda like the stereotypical gay community, mixed with teen pregnancy. Probably facilitated not only by the Korean women being easy, but also the language barrier, as well as that the foreigner male who has a lot of one night stands is probably more likely to be a carrier of an STD. Seems like this problem would be a non-issue if 1) The foreigners weren't douche bags and would say, "hey, i maaaay have HIV, still want to have sex?" Or 2) if the Korean women stopped to think about that. Basically if people have proper sex etiquette, which is a term I just made up, i think. The problem stated by the video is just as such. UNLESS THE SUBTITLES ARE TRICKING ME???

Defense of the over zealous sexual woman is rampant in NA (just because I dress like a slut doesn't mean I am one etc) and yet because there's a specific target in this video [white people as opposed to the generic horny guy] everyone is up in arms. It would seem to me that the Korean women this video discusses are suffering as a result of exceptionally poor understanding of sexual intimacy (read: condoms or what a one night stand is). Ultimately, this video is sensationalized nationalist propaganda. They've picked a topic that will hit close to home (watch out for your daughters! the foreign devils will steal their innocence, the white man brings HIV with him blah blah) and are using it to try to denounce cross-race dating (and in my estimation, it's more of an intent to prevent cross-race breeding and marriage). As Jinro said, someone who sticks out from the homogenized population will of course be of interest, by the very nature of their differentiation. Anecdotal "evidence" from friends has told me that many white guys in South Korea actually need to beat Korean women off with a stick. The funniest thing to me however, is that where I'm from there's a pretty large Korean population, and for the most part it is well known that they don't find white men attractive. Koreans here tend to centralize to one area of the city and generally only date other Koreans.

This video is a lot less xenophobic than some people are taking it to be. Keep in mind that sex is generally less casual in East Asian (specifically Korean, in this case) cultures, relatively speaking. I don't know how the subtitles are making this sound, but the subtext of this video is "we should try and not do this" as opposed to "omfg foreigners get them out of here". It IS open for interpretation, though, as can clearly be seen from some of these responses. If someone's already xenophobic, they're going to see this to confirm their pre-existing bias. I don't really see this as making anyone (or trying to make anyone) xenophobic, though.

The sad thing is, it's pretty widespread across Asia. And many foreigners tend to forget that the U.S. was involved with many restrictive policies/proganda against immigrants in the past. Yellow Peril, Anti-immigration acts and such, but I believe that's mostly disappeared?

Out of curiosity There's a huge market for foreign ESL teachers in Korea since most public schools and after school tutor centers (called Hagwons) employ foreigners specifically to teach english. The whole ESL affair is a topic on it's own and there are other threads that can be dug up which explore it in greater detail here on TL. Since it's kinda a controversial topic I'll leave it at that.

Women can't do what they want in korea or? Personally i don't give a shit if a foreigner gets cosy with a swedish girl. It's not my business anyway. This just screams "insecure korean men" all over it. Im ofcourse not talking about all korean men here. Only the ones who feels it's wrong with mixing races ^^. Although i really don't want to believe that there's many korean men that think this way. Probably just the older generation like mentioned in the op. Young people are more likely to be open minded instead of narrow minded.

And this is nothing new. Whenever we have a male foreign exchange student in the school, all the girls want him and sometimes, the guys will react harshly. Same with female exchange students. All the guys will flock around them and many of the girls will call her a slut.
