It really is nothing special. It uses a membrane like all other cheap keyboards. It is a Korean brand and can be bought in Korea. Where you are from, you will be able to get something similar and cheap from some other brand, perhaps Logitech, Cherry, Dell, Microsoft, Keysonic, Fujitsu, etc. Just get the cheap keyboard on which you make the least mistakes while typing fast, where you do not hit the wrong keys and the keys do not get stuck easily, and it will be just as good for you as the DT-35 is for Koreans. And do not buy a wireless keyboard or mouse.

The keyboard doesn't matter! Anyone below High GM can't play with every 5$ Keyboard, it makes no difference -_-

Keyboards, mouses and all that stuff really don't matter at all T_T.
I hate it when people buy the same gear as progamers just because they saw progamers use it.

Just get something u like.

I bought a few of these years ago.. still use it.

The main difference is that the keys are slighly smaller / closer together.

Of course getting some pro gaming equipment will not make you a significantly better player but it can be a motivation to put in some effort to actually get better.

The reason I tend to buy gaming eq is that these companies are pretty high up on the sponsor list for the ESports scene and I want to support them while I can.

Just buy the cheapest possible keyboard you can find. It doesn't matter if it's a logitech or a qsenn or whatever, Just buy the cheapest model they make and that's what the pros use. Keyboard has absolutely nothing to do with skill.

It's really good. I switched from Blackwidow to DT-35, like almost a year ago. Totally worth it.

Although, its a dome keyboard it feels a lot better than normal ones. Buttons are really easy to press, and its quiet. Really great keyboard.

Bad for what? Holding down 20 keys at the same time? That happens very often so mechanical is obviously better. O_O

Let me sum it up for everyone.

1. Korean pros buy this cheap keyboard because it's cheap and easily replaceable.
2. Korean pros get really good at Starcraft, primarily by playing it 24/7.
3. Foreigners want to become pro at Starcraft without actually developing any real skills.
4. Foreigners come to the conclusion that the brand of keyboard used by the Korean players is a contributing factor in success.
5. Demand for said cheap keyboard develops amongst Western gamers.
6. Importers sell the keyboard onto the hapless masses, sometimes for as much as 10 times the price that it retails for in Korea.
7. People actually buy them.

Moral of the story: Go to your local supermarket and buy the cheapest keyboard you can find. Same difference.

I don't think that many people really believe having the same keyboard as their favourite pro gamer will allow to become much better at the game, however, please remember, we do actually need people to buy hardware from sponsors to appease the sponsors :D !

And also, this thread was started more of curiousity, I do not the think the OP thinks he can become MVP overnight by buying his keyboard, and anyone trying to state that people who do this are stupid are really just stating the obvious about a minority

That said, if you are going to spend a lot of time at the comp and do have the cash, I see nothing wrong with going mechanical for comfort, considering the amount of time you spend pressing the keys (although still on my £15 10 year old Logitech Keyboard )

A few of them used to/still do. Alot of them use the keyboard listed here, but a couple of guys like Nada have dabbled/still use mech keyboards.

buying a dt35 for $20 is definitely better than buying some random mechanic keyboard for $120

How is it better than that? Have you actually tried a mechanical keyboard yourself?

I don't really think there's something called "better". People buy a mechanical keyboard because it is more comfortable, which is a fact.

The only differences that I know of between mechanical keys and domes is their life span(mechanical keys have an estimated 50 million keystroke life span, while domes only have 5 million), and the response(you don't have to press the key down completely for a response on mechanical keyboards).

No, that is not a fact. How something feels is subjective, so because you and other people think its more comfortable, that doesn't mean they are more comfortable to everyone. In fact, to me, dome keyboards are more comfortable to use, but I use the shit out of keyboards and wanted to stop buying a new one every year because they stopped working.
