Sounds like he got what he deserved....to me spouting off racial shit has always been the stupidest part of the online gaming community. I go by the mantra that I wouldn't say anything online that I wouldn't also say to somebody in real life. Going Nigger this and nigger that online just shows how much of an immature douchebag you are....at least there's some accountability when you're supposed to be a "professional".

Doesn't mean you have to overreact. Why get so sensitive and hurt about it? I was also thinking.. if Destiny had to leave Quantic and get a huge blow to his reputation because of this, what about the other ragers on SC2? I mean, I've met a lot of users on SC2 that BM even worse than this and never let it go, going as far as to report you. Even if these guys aren't pros should we just let that go? So is it okay if we protest against one player and then ignore the other BM-ers out there? What good does that do if the majority are using racial slurs and the such? :S Also if people don't like Destiny....why watch his stream? I am confused. :S Also all these emailing sponsors and stuff is crap. That won't solve the problem. It'll only make it worse. I am disappointed in the community for doing so. I thought you guys would think twice before doing so as it hurts e-sports.
Are the other players sponsored by razor? Ah right, They are not.. so they don't need to watch there mouths! Simple as that,
We have used every sports analogy you can think of and still people are finding a way to be disappointed at the people who spotlighted this abusive atrocious racist idiotic behavior... And to all the people screaming "free speech.. In your country it may be ok to call someone a faggot gook .. id love to see you go call a mosque a shithole... lets see your freedom of speech save you from the people who didn't agree with your free speech bullshit... Remember the guy who drew Muhhamed with a bomb in his hat and people tried to kill him.. Where was his freedom of speech .. sure he has it .. but it doesn't mean there wont be repercussions .. And thats where we are with destiny, sure he has that freedom of speech but doesn't mean he wont get punished for exacting your american right!

Most insults nowadays barely even make sense, other than the fact that people know the statement was supposed to be insulting. Calling someone a "motherfucker" isn't very insulting (saying the sleep with their own mother, maybe).
Orb definitely shouldn't have been using sensitive words knowing he was in the public eye, but saying it's racist in any way is a very long stretch.

Hey, you're argument isn't with me, it's with the 90% of society that would consider using the word 'nigger' in a derogatory way racist and offensive.

This isn't about rating insults on your meter of what counts as insulting to you and what doesn't.
"saying it's racists in any way is a very long stretch'
No it's actually the immediate conclusion that anyone is going to make.

Glad quantic realized what a toxic player destiny is. He is no match for their top roster players and doesnt have the professional attitude required to upkeep the name of such an organization.
I blame the fanboys.

The terms you used to describe it make it sound like a hate crime involving a homicide took place. Just a little over-dramatic don't you think? I'm disappointed because WardenSC posted for the sole purpose of this. He didn't care about racism, he didn't care about the community. He saw an opportunity to spite someone he doesn't like and knew the rabid 'for esports' zombies would jump all over it and he couldn't have been more right.

With Quantic picking up and taking care of the Vile guys I have no problem with this move. GL to Destiny, the Vile roster that swapped, and to Quantic!

There's nothing intrinsically insulting about racist terminology, unlike words like "bitch" or "asshole". It's the fact that it's being said with the knowledge and intent to degrade someone based on their ethnicity, using a term that they don't want used to label themselves.

It's pretty simple. Regardless of whether fans emailed the sponsors or not, if the sponsors couldn't defend their reasons, or justify the sponsorship, then they shouldn't have been sponsoring him in the first place. Yes it was Quantic who hired Destiny but Razer should have told Quantic not to hire him. Quantic should have known not to hire him.
The responsibility lies on Qunatic and Razer to perform due diligence when choosing representatives of their brands. Case closed. So you want Razer to micromanage Quantic?

What is it with some people.. I made the very point that destiny put himself in this postion, no-one put a gun to destinys head and said freeze, say something racist or your dead. He did it for fun. Warden didn't do anything wrong he simply exposed this disgusting individual. Thankyou to warden. You highlighted a growing problem.. Destiny is free to continue he just won't receive any direct cash from any international pc peripheral manufacturers as he continues his journey to self-actualization.

Shame people wrote to sponsors, not team, if they felt they needed to take action.
My only contribution to this subject would be that oppressed, or once oppressed, minorities have historically taken to using words previously used by their oppressors with the goal of empowerment - taking ownership of a word that was used to oppress them. Rappers (cited as justification somewhere in the thread) are just one example of this. Their 'ownership' of words previously used in hate against them could be seen as a 'middle finger' to the oppressors. This should not be confused as a 'green light' to the oppressors to continue using the word; quite the opposite.

I understand that point-of-view, but I personally think the 'mainstreaming' of racial slurs just gives political and social cover to actual racists.
For every 100 'faux-racists' like Destiny, there is maybe one or two actual racists that you're giving the freedom to openly slander and discriminate against people, and they would use the same argument that Destiny would: "It's just words".
