The only problem here is: he isn't a free agent anymore, casting solely for himself.
By association EG, Playhem and Orb all should uphold the same standard or suffer when one decline of morals affects another party. As a free agent Orb can do whatever he wants, thats not the issue here. Hell he could even be more popular as a individual streamer gathering viewers who love 18+ content/slurs etc. But EG would have picked a different caster if they connect their brand, organisation to a spokesperson of EG-activity that upholds other standards.
As an organisation you're defined by the public opinion (which we all know) can be changed by one incident, handled right or wrong. All your hard work as a corporation, all the effort by your employees, all the history of what your company has done -gone if one incident is handled wrong in the public eyes.
So most corporation screen their public-outlets, and watch them with more interest and higher standards than the people in the backoffice, simply because they can affect their audience in a positive or negative manner within a hartbeart.
Orb, as a caster, as an associate of EG and PlayhemTV affects the brandname he is representing while he is casting. Logical, thats why great casters will also reap the benefits from doing a good job for their employers. Hell is why they are scouted/picked up in the first place.
This all is just a case of affecting the brandname in a negative manner, its not certain it will happen, but as a company; why take the risk it will? So more often than not the organisations will drop the issue by distancing themselves and revoking future contracts for the time being. Just long enough to let the individual redeem himself and have the magnifying glass of their brand and solely on the individual that started the incident.
Kinda expect EG to do the same here, why take a risk your well-built up brandname takes a nosedive in your public image? Not that a nosedive will happen, but why take the risk with a hired, easily replaceable representative - is what most will think.

Overall that is pretty pathetic to see from someone who has been casting major events, I say he better clean up his act or shouldn't be allowed to commentate these major events, just my opinion on the matter. GL nevertheless.

This really describes the situation in which we are. We live in a world where people start throwing cuss words to each other when they are losing in a game... It's a game where you shall have fun and enjoy playing it, but so many can't handle losing. No matter what kind of words are used, allthough in this case it's even more harsh. Orb really shows that he is not one of the intelligent players, or even good people.
A losing player can rage, but don't rage towards your opponent, rather look inside a mirror and rage towards yourself...
I really love Koreans, becaus they know how to behave and they even have a sense of honor. But raging people don't even know what the word honor means.

Holy shit, EG is a respectable bussines. It's a company led by professionals. No company can afford that one of their members uses such words, even at times when a member is not 'working' at EG (i.e streaming at home). Show some respect to the EG staff. They just can't let their reputation get fucked by a caster using such words and even streaming them.
In this situation you can't just shrug your shoulders and think meh it's the internet. People who think this isn't a big deal probably have no clue about what a bussines/marketing is.
I think EG is getting nervous, because this is such a shitstorm. Someone even called Monster ©, and adressed this situation. (don't know if that last one is true, but that's really fucked up if true)

Racist? Not in my opinion.. I just don't see that. People who infer from these situations, that orb is a racist are wrong imo. I am convinced that he wrote that word, because raging is about venting, it's about throwing shit at the world (and writing stuff in a video game is a very modest way, when it comes to that), so you can feel better. He most likely said that word, BECAUSE he thinks it's wrong. It's extremely exihalarating to do forbidden things and saying the word 'nigger' is about the most forbidden thing, when it comes to swearing. Doesn't make it less stupid to say it in the first place, but please don't call him racist because of it. (And for racism in general, I very much like to think that Morgan Freeman got it right.)
What irritates me more is the fact that he seemingly lied about it. An honest approach may have been more advisable, but for us, who aren't closely connected it's easy to write this, it's very much harder to do I guess when you are caught up a situation like this yourself.
He has to face the consequences and I am sure EG will find a good solution to this. In fact I don't think they should 'fire' him (I don't really know on what basis EG and orb are working together right now), if they see the possibility of him doing better in the future. I think he should be given the chance to make up for it, if he can convince the EG management that he is willing to change and work on this.

Well its not that surprising he doenst get banned on bnet, they usually don't ban you for bm. The only time i was ever banned was after threatening to kill someones family after a stupid loss streak. they would have way too much to do if they banned stuff like that.

I personally (and I don't expect the majority of readers 'ere to agree) think it would be pretty neat if ad-hominem attacks of the severity displayed by orb above was a temp-bannable offense on battlenet. Like, if you're reported acting like orb does in the screens above, you get banned for a day or two, up to a week. I don't think being an asshole to another person adds any value to the game; rather, I think it detracts from the whole thing.
On the one hand, being fired from your "job" (I doubt Orb supports himself entirely from EG, but if he does, more power - and trouble - to him!) due to acting like an asshat in semi-privacy is rather harsh. On the other it makes sense that an organization like EG, which derives its income primarily from being a Good Thing for a company to be associated with, takes action against someone who acts in a manner many would find reprehensible.
This is tricky. It's not like I'm some utter prude who doesn't abide rough language, offensive humor or other fun stuff in life. In fact, I indulge in them all rather often - but I do believe that you should confine such things to private arenas where you can be sure no one will be offended or hurt. A meeting with a random stranger on the internet is certainly not such an arena.
I'm not sure what I'd like to see happen from Orb. He dug his own hole lying to EG, and should be booted for only that offense. But let's say he didn't lie to EG and instead said "yeah, that's me. What I do on my own time is my own stuff". What would have been the reasonable response then? Probably the boot, from EG's perspective. But how to reconcile this with freedom to do your own thing off the clock? Should you be punished for acting in a manner that is common online? I don't know.
What I do know is that I don't like that fact that the culture of the internet, especially gaming culture, has evolved to consider such things normal and expected. It's just sad. Can't we all just be nice and get along, hmm?
