Starcraft 2 - if you HAVE to compare it to a sport - is more like boxing or MMA.

The teams practice together, share sponsors, share a gym (training house), but at the end of the day its an individual competition. At the end of the day, people ask you who your favorite fighter/boxer is, NOT who your favorite team is.

If Huk were to go to EG, and you're a fan of Huk, then you shouldn't care. Simple as that.

But SC2 is also not like Boxing or MMA because team leagues exist with their own tournament format separate from individual leagues. If they did this in MMA or Boxing, then I assure you people would also have their favorite teams in those sports too and drama would also occur if situations like this were to happen.

I have heard boo's because of bad calls or poor sportsmanship such as a glove being thrown at another player to incite an outburst, but those are completely different situations. Dude, I and along with 110,000 other people boo'd the shit outta every damn team that walked into Beaver Stadium to play against Penn State. Why? Because when they are going out there against my team, I fucking hate them. Seriously man, you just don't understand sports.

You are missing the point. Notice the emphasis I make on the difference between booing a team and what they stand for and an individual. Again, two different things. Hating the red sox is cool, because that's a team that doesn't share your origin if youre a yankees fan. But to hate a specific individual because of his career choice? and attack him on a personal level? Completely immature, some good points have been made that you should scroll back and look through. And you are missing the point in saying the booing is personal. Say Huk goes to EG and at the next MLG some people boo him. Now why are the booing him? Because he left TL for EG, which is a business decision. How is that an attack on a personal level? Its not. Its completely a sc2 level.

And thats fine. Some people are a fan of the game, I would say more are when it comes to sc2, but that also is because of how new it is. I'm like that way myself. I don't think I would really boo anyone, just because I don't have too much of an emotional connection to a team or player, but that doesn't mean some people don't. Eventually this will happen if sc2 keeps growing. As more rivalries are formed and for good reasons, its only natural.
