Many people watch team sports solely because they root for their hometown team. Many people watch Starcraft because they love the game no matter who is playing. the rich white man game is more about golf and tennis. Many people also watch certain players because they are their favorite players or because they play on their favorite team. They have an emotional connection to the players and teams. Its called being a fan. Some are fans of the game, others have more specific views and there is nothing wrong with that.

You are missing the point. Notice the emphasis I make on the difference between booing a team and what they stand for and an individual. Again, two different things. Hating the red sox is cool, because that's a team that doesn't share your origin if youre a yankees fan. But to hate a specific individual because of his career choice? and attack him on a personal level? Completely immature, some good points have been made that you should scroll back and look through. Quit comparing this situation to other sports.

Not as much as many of my PSU/Pittsburgh counterparts, but I do. I don't boo SC players. There are some I cheer for more, but I don't have a stake in who wins or loses to a point that I feel a negative emotional reaction when somebody loses. I'm mostly there because I love the game. Team sports are different.. I hate the Baltimore Ravens. I want them to lose. I think a large portion of the community has the same feeling which is why you see a negative reaction toward booing. We're in this together so to speak I guess.

That main reason why that was a shitstorm was that EG went "behind TSL's backs, spoke to the player and not the coaches, etc etc" and TSL displayed how pissed off they were vocally. It seems that, if its even true, this is something that has been in the works for awhile. Which would, assuming again (we should probably stop using that word), involve negotiations with EG and TL, making it more legitimate.

How is SC2 more versatile and competitive than boxing or MMA? Are you just talking out of your ass or what? You cannot honestly say that one sport has greater competition than another nor can you compare the competition between video games and sports nor can you compare video games with other video games. Each sport and game is different and there is no way to judge how much more one is competitive than the other without looking like a fool. You might claim "well this sport is easier than this one" or "this video game is easier than that one" then go and try and win a major tournament in that said sport or video game and see how hard it is. With that said, MMA and Boxing is similar to SC2 not only because it's 1v1 but also there are training gyms which are basically teams in sc2. MMA fighters generally dislike fighting others who train in the same gym as them because they are their practice partners who they show everything to. Guys like Matt Hamil and Tito Ortiz train in the same gym and are a training team. Ever heard of sponsors like Skrap Pack or Metal Mulisha? These are basically teams in MMA that share sponsors and train together. It's like the IM team house that trains with each other and shows everything to one another. Sure we don't see team leagues in MMA because what would we see? WWF style tag team? No thanks. That is all.
