I can't believe this still is needed but religious and gun control side discussions will be met with harsh penalties from page 52 and onwards. |

An off duty doctor later (or prior) also had also checked her out there wasnt much else one could do for her.
Okay. As i said earlier, fantastic job, what you did there.

I don't get it?? A bunch of americans derailed the whole thread arguing about which weapon must have been used and which would be better and so on; a few pages back. Actually since now you're referring to me, I'll go ahead and set the record straight since it IS relevant to this thread: -A poster had implied that this act must have been executed by a "highly trained professional". I replied that in fact this act - although horrible - is an act that can be replicated by ANYONE that is crazy enough. It DOES NOT require a HIGHLY TRAINED operator to kill with a tool like an assault weapon. That was my point - it's an important point too. We must ALL be very wary of this type of violence as it can happen ANYWHERE so long as a lunatic/fanatic has access to the right TOOLS - in this case, an assault weapon. -Another poster uselessly responded to me that I was wrong in my nomenclature - that "assault rifle" was not the right term. To this needless point I replied, with FOUR sources, that the description and aftermath of the violence clearly indicated that it WAS an assault rifle. Again, this point is important because it indicates that somebody had access to a very dangerous tool - one that enables this type of slaughter with relative ease. Now, do you have any questions for me, this "bunch of stupid Americans"? By the way, I'm one person. Hope that clears it up.
Don't try to start a flame-war here by miss-quoting me. I will not reply to any more gun related posts from here on.

This is hitting us hard, in so many ways. It's not like we thought we were untouchable, but still its a shock. We are used to feel safe in our little peaceful corner of the world, now this is gone. Just that anyone would do this to innocent young people like the ones on Utøya is more than i can understand. They were just kids! How can they justify that?

The most annoying thing is that now we all have to go to sleep without an answer as to the motivation behind all this and after 4 hours of watching it, thats doesn't feel right. A lot seems to point towards a right-wing extremist displeased with the government and the labour party. It also looks like a lone wolf or a tiny group of people responsible. But that doesn't make sense. What would they have to gain? Since most of the norwegian people would not side with the socialist party even more wouldn't they ? Is it the socialist party who agreed to send troups in Afghanistan back in the day or was it a different party ?
I stared at your post for a good 5 minutes without getting a single decent answer. You're absolutely right. It doesn't make sense. At the end of the day he hasn't achieved anything but a perplexed nation and blog posts about human cruelty.
I'm afraid I'm not politically invested enough to give any other detailed analysis.

I heard they mentioned that the shooter was known to the police. The age adds up. It is not impossible that this is the same guy.

Well, does it even matter what his "reasons" were? I mean, it's not like we're all going to go "oh ok, now I see why he..." No. When he has done something like this, whatever "reason" he thinks he had for it is pretty much irrelevant. Except of course if it can be used to prevent this kind of things in the future.

One possibility would be that they expected to get away and assumed (correctly based on the many fingers that have already started pointing that way due to lack of information) that islamist terrorist groups would be blamed.
Another is that they wanted to highlight Norways lack of security against terrorism.
A third would be that they just really hated the Norwegian labour party and wanted to take revenge.
You have to remember that we are most likely talking about someone that is completely batshit crazy, normal logic and reason does most likely not quite apply

it's basically just a summary of all the shit he's done. Possession of lots of illegal guns, explosives and he was in jail/sentenced for vehicular manslaughter. His age adds up, this was 9 years ago, he was 23, and the alleged "terrorist" is 32 years of age. The details aren't important.
