I can't believe this still is needed but religious and gun control side discussions will be met with harsh penalties from page 52 and onwards.

Uncensored version of one of the pictures which has been floating around from the Utøya shooting. I have never felt such sadness.

I feel the same man. Thoughts go out to those who have lost friends and/or family today. I hope you'll all stay strong through tough times.

Words cannot comprehend my commiseration for these people and their families after seeing that image. What nonsensical lunatic would do this?

I'm not from Norway, but obviously this kind of prison is not intended for the punishment of such freak mass killers. It's rather there to reform and resocialize criminals, and I think it's been working pretty well.

It has indeed. Still, some people are twisted beyond repair.

Those people go into different institutions for treatment so eh. We have max 21 years for murder here, but someone can be kept for indefinite amount of time to protect society from them if it's deemed necessary.

Didn't notice this before, but from bbc:
"2107:
Aerial images have been released by Norway's TV2 showing members of a Swat team arriving at the island where the shooting took place. In the same set of images, young people stripped down to their underwear could be seen swimming away from the island toward shore."

I just hope those bodies were infact swimming, because they looked pretty still to me :/

Have not seen this posted so:

http://www.aftonbladet.se/nyheter/article13363131.ab

15 images after the bombing. A few pictures include blood and what you would expect, you have been warned...
You are entering the vicinity of an area adjacent to a location. The kind of place where there might be a monster, or some kind of weird mirror. These are just examples; it could also be something much better. Prepare to enter, The Scary Door.

Would it not be a good idea to just swim far away and not all the way to land? I'd imagine it'd be easy to get too fatigued and just die from that. I like to keep hope that they were just trying to get far enough away...

The people photographed were still alive, floating and waiting to get picked up by the police. However several people are reported dead on the beaches and in the water of the island. The police as well as nearby volunteers are searching for both survivors and bodies in the waters around the island.

Just saw some very promising footage on Tv2. Most, if not all, of the bodies were indeed swimming.

Little known fact is that when bullets hit water, they usually disintegrate from the speed of the impact..making people underwater fairly safe from the gunfire.

Does anyone have links to the satellite images?

The best way to rest if you're tired from swimming is to lie on your back with your head tilted back / chin up, arms sort of open to your side and to just float. This requires almost no effort to stay afloat and breathe so them remaining still may not mean dead. Tredding water is another way to stay afloat but if these people swam hundreds of meters and aren't use to swimming I'm sure they could be really tired and just resting as well as tredding water can require a lot of energy if you don't know how to do it properly. Just trying to remain positive here.

So, I'm Norwegian, but I live pretty far from Oslo.
The newsteams here are saying that the terrorattack may have come from norwegian nationalists and nazis. This is because they/he have attacked the political party that's currently in our government, and the political youth of the same party.

Therefore, the reasoning for this attack may be that the nazis/nationalists are tired of our open immigrationpolitics. We pretty much help everybody that needs a home, and fugatives from war-countries. They are tired of that, and have gone to extreme lengths to scare us.

This is just a theory from some newsteams out there. But it's relativly plausible because of the looks of the shooter at "Utøya".

The shooter has also been spotted in a brown/gray van at both crimescenes.

Yes "lone wolf" means he was acting by himself. But we can't be 100% sure about that yet.

Are you watching the press conference?
If it's online, can you post a link? The stream on VG just went down before it started.
