For me this is said so lightly, it's funny that you talk about passion HERE because we are on a forum where for so many members, this "passion" is actually playing starcraft and most of them aren't getting any money or "success" or whatsoever out of it. To be honest I think that when somebody talks about exercising your "passions", they talk about the "good" ones, the ones at which you are skillful and you can actually get socializing out of it. For example, photography, playing the gitar or some other stuff that girls like.
To the vast majority of people, telling them "hey, if you devote more time to your passion you can actually be happier and more successful in life in general" sounds like WOW YOU SO GENIUS (irony)... sounds like going to a poor guy in the street "hey, we have studied about your problem and we have concluded that... you need more money! BTW here's the bill for the research, thank you"
I'm not necessarily saying you have to have success on the outer levels. As long as it is successful, as completely as possible, in your mind, then I think it is fine. Is outer recognition good? Well hell yeah. But you should measure your progress against yourself, not others. Say you are taking an advanced level chemistry course after getting a C+ in gen chem. You bust your ass to scrape out a B, or B+, when you know there are multiple people with damn near100s. Does this make you unsuccessful? Of course not. You busted your ass and did way better in an advanced class than an intro class. That is successful, even if you don't necessarily have the highest grade, on a personal level.
And to be honest, any passion can be sociable, and I would say who gives a fuck if it is girls or guys who like it? So, you like anime a lot. There are tons of conventions that people go to; some to dress up, some to discuss the future of anime, and some about the design and storytelling. Pick your poison, but there are still tons of opportunities to be sociable no matter what it is.

You're gonna have to find a way to get it; real jobs or side jobs. Want to get a real job or side jobs? You're gonna have to go out and talk to people. After awhile, you may want a new job or a better understanding of how to get what you want, so you start reading up and testing the subject. Either way, it is a cascade effect.
Haha, I got your irony. But the fact is that despite the fact that people know this, they aren't willing to put in the effort. And remember, being the best you isn't just about bettering yourself in one area (your passion in this case), but in all areas. Even the weak ones.

Again the same thing. this time with money instead of social relationships. If you earn money it's because you do something which is useful or profitable, (or desirable or whatever you want to call it) to someone else. Usually it's something which is useful for a vast majority of people. Not you. Only exception is that you do something exceptionally rare but you are the best in the world. or you are lucky enough to be passionate about something that is interesting for lots and lots of people... If that's the case you are surely not reading this forum, and I don't think you would have any social problems at all

While the best approach to this question varies depending on who's asking/listening, it's generally best if you subtly let on that there's a few girls that you're seeing, but you're not in an exclusive relationship.
Again, however, since it's generally asked by girls who like you, it's not terribad if you screw it up slightly, as you might have noticed.
