Yup, Zerg usually (unless I'm playing completely all out and going into my current highest APM possible) takes a lot more APM. When in a slightly competitive state, like trying to beat a friend, my average with T and P will be 70-80 most of the time, while my Z usually is at 70-80 by the midgame but is nearing 100 by the lategame.

Honestly it does seem a bit unfair for Zerg to have to "require" more APM, unless I am missing something important here when comparing APM requirements for the races. I guess it's balanced out because T and P need to harass/drop more and stuff? Hm

I have a higest with Zerg, as it is my main race. Hoever, I think I keep relatively close with all races...

Zerg (queen injects and spawning units) > Terran (make 6 rax, 1 fact, and a starport and make units) > Protoss (warp in units)

APM is biaised for zerg because when for example you morph 30 zergling into 30 baneling just holding the apporpriate key ( only "one" action, your APM as calculated by sc2 software will jump to 300-500 .(At least that is what i get when i tried it)

I play random. On even my best protoss games I never break 75 (and as soon as I actually bother to get my 25 1v1 random win Icon I'm going to stay protoss). But as zerg I can get as high as 90-100 for the whole game.

My Z apm is the highetst but Z is also my main race so I dont know if it's that accurate.
I had higher apm as Z in bw too followed by P and then T.

I play Z so...

average APM is just north of 80
battle APM average is 180-200
I broke 500 today, multiple times. I was going through a replay of a game I played this morning and seriously WTFd face when I saw that. But that's when I was producing units spamming U and Z as hard as I could trying to reload my army.

Toss APM is a touch lower. Terran APM is lol.

And to everyone who thinks zerg takes more APM and causes your aPM to be higher as zerg, you're just falling to the placebo affect. It doesn't. Zerg takes has fewer required actions than the other 2 races. Anything you're doing to increase your APM as zerg is completely voluntary and could be applied to protoss or terran.

You're suggesting that zerg takes more "apm" to play. Which means, you're suggesting zerg is harder to play. Unless of course you're just spamming with zerg.

I think each race is equal.

z always been highest due to me using them in bw.
My apm goes wayyy higher in zvz as well because im always spamming that good old muta hotkey again something i picked up from bw.

Man talking about this just makes me miss sniping scourge

Well when you select 30+ larva and make all lings by holding down Z, it counts as like 500 apm... That and the production buildings (along with hateries) can and should be all on the same keybind

OT: Zerg is my main race... And so far, I've been climbing and am about 160-180 each game (1700 diamond)

I play Protoss sometimes in like 4v4 where it seems like 100, but not as crazy as Zerg

About the same. I gash about 160 APM for each race. Possibly slightly more with zerg. Injection larvae and all I guess takes a little more APM overall, but zerg takes less APM in the fights.
