Hello everyone,
I'm a random player, and have been practicing my APM for a while. Currently my APM level is as follow:
When I play calm, my average APM is about 60/60/80 for terran/protross/zerg (when I practice my APM, it's roughly +20 for each race).
So overall, my APM as a zerg is significantly higher than with other races.
I have been wondering if this is due to zerg in general or if this should indicate something about my play.
So I'd like to know, if some of you who play different races have observed something similar.

I am usually playing random. My usual APM with all races is 90. But misteriousely my APM in TvT is usually like 120 (with no reason and only this matchup)

I find myself with the highest APM whilst playing Zerg aswell, protoss is the one that i have the least amount of APM with, terran close 3rd. Terran tends to have pretty high APM when i play though, cus of harass and so on.

Random:
95 -> Terran
110 -> Zerg
75 -> Protoss
Most win as protoss :D

I main Terran and I'm about 130-150 with that race. When I play Z (hoping to get good enough at each race to random on the ladder), I jump up to about 180.
Simply more stuff to do with Zerg.

I play Terran and Zerg and strangely enough it's higher for Terran. I guess it's because I harass and use alot of heavy micro oriented builds/

My main race is P, so that is my highest apm. My worst is Z, mostly because I am not fully aware of build orders and have milliseconds of delay as I think of what to do, which all add up after a while.

I play Z as a main race and have APM average around 120, but for me it feels like when i play terran what i do more often recently i need far more APM, and i have checked it, i have 140 average with terran.
For me it feels like terran is far more APM intense than z is, cause you need hotkeys for all production buldings not like z you just have your hatcherys

I play terran as my main and sit around 140 apm but when I occasionally play Zerg my apm jumps to about 180, and I'm not even that familiar with the race.

I believe zerg apm gets huge boosts from the fact that it's so easy to just spam-create units, resulting in massive apm spikes. At least, that's what I've gathered from looking over apm charts of my own games.

i find i get around 100 as terran, 120 as zerg and probably close to 130-140 as toss.
It seems like I micro a LOT more with terran, so my macro slips and my APM drops, and I'm really good with my chrono boosts or larva with the other races.
Also, I find warpgates boost my APM as well

I play as random, and I get the most APM as zerg. Terran and Protoss have about the same APM, until late game or if I'm doing certain things (i.e. advancing tank lines with mech play). Then, normally Terran has more APM due to my love of Ravens, unless I went for HT before Colossi. Spellcasters shoot up my APM more than other options.

I could be wrong, but if I recall correctly. Every time you tell a group of units an order, that equals to the # of units in that group actions. So if you have a ball of 30 zerglings, and right click that equates to 30 actions. (Although redundant actions are not included, such as if the pathing of the unit is not altered) So it is much more common to have high numbers of Zerg units in a control group than it is for other races. This results in a higher APM.

Nope, telling a group to move is 1 action.

It doesn't matter how much units are in a group. One group action = one action.

This is wrong, otherwise my APM as Zerg would be... well, over 9000 i guess. I have a ton of speedlings in most Zerg games.
Most actions are counted, the only actions that seem to not be counted are those without result, for example trying to build zerglings a hundred times without larva doesn't count.
On Topic:
Terran: ~65
Protoss: ~70
Zerg: ~80-90
Might be because i play far more aggressive with zerg, my harassing mutalisks don't get a single second to rest their wings.
I know it's low APM, but hey, i'm almost as old as WhiteRa, i'm allowed to be slow.

I have about the same numbers as OP, 80 as zerg, 60 as protoss (my strongest race), and with terran a whopping...40 (because I'm an aweful, aweful terran).

My highest is with Terran... probably due to the fact it is my main race. However, I think if I were to switch to zerg I would eventually have higher apm with Zerg
