New players will come and they will be harassed for sure. And it only takes 1 person to be harassed in Real Life to prove that the system fails, and it will happen, a 3 Million people country have stalkers, murderers, paedophilia, TROLLS, and stuff, now imagine a 12Million Country were most of them are Male and they are USED TO TROLL... In a game were a lot of feelings get involved (people breaking up their computers cz they lost a match or a raid or whatever). Yes, you might be safe, I might be safe, maybe all the TL community will be safe, but what about the others ? You really think that you are the only player in the world ? Jesus I hate this kind of arguments... such selfish prick. Thats my point. I was just making up that number. Nobody knows how many people or who will be using fake accounts, there will be no way to differentiate them so it will discourage random stalking which is hardly a problem anyway. People are just blowing it out of proportion.

If there were so many psychotic nerds out there, Browder and Kotick would have been tracked down and murdered long ago. Well, its a little bit harder to make up an assasination plan against someone, who is probably protected by an security force, travel there, have an weapon to actually do it and then succeed... ...when, on the other hand, you just have to google the name of someone and copy-paste his whole life into an textbox.

Killing them i think would be a bit much...I could see vandalism, prank calls, false pizza deliveries, and many more creative ways of harassment happening.

All the real problems are solved by not using the Blizzard forums, which in no way impacts your ability to use the rest of the service. The slippery slope part isn't a fallacy at all. It's painfully clear 'social networking' is the new buzz word being sent down to Blizzard, and it's going to affect every part of battle.net 2.0.

It feels like what is going on in my corporation right now. We are implementing a new business model that has been used by other major corporations. It sounds all nice and good in a planning room but when it hits the actual floor and implementation phase it just turns out to be horrible. Social networking is the new dot com. Something bad is going to happen before execs realize that the world, and especially the interwebs, isn't a nice huggable panda loving place.
