I have a pretty common name, but even so I don't even want future employers to know that I game. People will hold that against you. Also I work for a state government agency, and if I want a better position there are some very invasive background checks involved. Of course they will google people.

I think it boils down to the Korean law issue, personally. Don't know if it was in this forum that I saw it, but it's here, from a blog at harvard.edu so personally I feel that gives it more weight than just coming from some random doofus. Take that for what you will.

Blizz is just trying to give some other reason that makes no sense. I have to say that this issue has sort of galvanized me, and I deleted all pictures of me from my flickr / made them private, and am considering deleting my facebook account (not much on there anyway). I was thinking about what nickname I'd like to use with SC2, and filled a whole notecard front & back with possibilities, but couldn't decide on one. I think I will use all of them for various sites around the internet. I have been too lax with my usernames and passwords online and this has sort of brought it into focus that I need to be more careful.

I get this creeping dread about this issue. There is this convergence of identities from the people who want to monetize every damn scrap of information on people they can get their hands on, and it has to be fought.
