I WANNA SEE IT Bypassing the installer im sure is not that hard for a hacker, however figuring out how you're gunna be able to play SC2 without connecting to B.Net will be very hard...especially when you considering Blizzard probably has a team dedicated to constantly updating the security. Even if it is cracked, pro-gaming will never be allowed on anything but b.net 2.0 hence, chances of there being a iccup for sc2 that's popular is slim.

Bypassing the installer would almost certainly involve doing the same thing as the single player thing. In fact having to connect just to install might be the protection they have in place for single player. My main curiosity is how easy it will be able to crack when there's no example of blizzard's activation packets to work with - which will likely be the case until release. One would just have to bypass that, either without knowing what it needs, or by figuring out what it needs by examining the "key-hole" (as opposed to the key). A server emulator would take a long time to do, but when done, it's very possible that it could allow things like AMM, rankings, and tournaments. Problem is, I don't think any major organization would be able to get away with using an emulated server, but at least people will have their LAN/latency features and cross-regional play.

This can be monetary (eg the $ per copy of wow distributed before the release date) or any other action agreed upon (usually) within the contact itself. If the parties can not agree on the correct remedy for the breech of contract, or the party in breech refuses to perform the remedy the legal system be involved (via law suit, or whatever) and will decide on and enforce the remedy as they see fit. Breech of contract is against the law in the US, theres a whole segment called contract law. edit: minor breeches are the ones that constitute a fee that you spoke of. that still means its illegal however, if you break a contract thats illegal and you have to pay.

I can not find one reference anywhere to breach of contract being illegal. I have looked up contract law and other similar searches online. If you do have a source for that I would like to see it out of interest. I'd like to compare it to the contact laws of Australia just out of curiosity.
