I though it qould be up today since they have had enough maintenance

Blizzards are currently trying to start eu beta today, if they fail, we ll have to w8 until monday i guess.

I am now very afraid that Blizzard will have EU beta up tonight and tell us Asians that we have to wait for another two days since Blizzard haven't even mentioned anything about Asia server at all. It feels so frustration not being able to "know" anything but only able to "guess". Asia servers are always delayed. From World of Warcraft to now Starcraft2.

Actually I decided that I will check only page 1 of this thread to see when EU server is up. I am excited but patient waiting for game to start. Reading this thread just makes me depressed.
First it was why beta 2 doesnt start. Then we were upgraded and why we can't play. Then americans start to play, and why we in EU can't. Then it was explained that server system has issues, and once it is fixed it will be implemented on other servers, then it was why we dont have information about it. Now we have information about EU, then it was why we need to wait that long. I am absolutely sure that once it started for EU it will be plenty of why game is lagging, why this and why that.... Count on this that tonight at 20:00 CEST beta maybe not finally started for EU but only new announcement will be out.
Some of you sound so unsatisfied about everything. You will cancel your preorders, you will boycot, you waste your time, you will sue Blizzard.... Please stop this and read Beta key agreement again. You have oportunity to play for free, under certain conditions and AS IS, with no obligations from Blizzard. This waiting actualy means that Blizzard is working on it. If you dont like waiting, uninstall SC2 beta and say goodbye. If beta is wasting your time you shouldnt apply for the key at the first place. Let it go. After the official release it will all be different. Once you pay for the product you need to get something back, and this will be the time for eventual real complaining with reason.
After all, we will play the best game ever made. Starcraft 2 is not born yet, it will happen at July 27. It will be New era and SC 2 birthday and no one will want to remember that it was some beta part 1 and part 2, and that Blizzard didn't announce ETA for EU server to start.

I am going to give Blizzard the benefit of the doubt for now and think that their policy regarding information will not be like this after release.
Actually you were whining... "Common courtesy" is not a characteristic of huge companies (like for example blizzard)...

now its a beta i know, but they would have done good trying to simulate the sc2 launch and they had enough time to prepare for this
i wouldnt mind that much but i am german

I'd also question the part of them "having enough time"

The hype around here was that Blizzard wasn't just some run of the mill huge company. :p

On a side note, blizz have a good system going and let me explain - the more information you share, the more your users like you, etc. BUT when a piece of that info is false, people start to generally like you less and less as false info spreads around. Blizz here keep it quiet and ambiguous so as to be 99% sure their info is not false. This way, the only people who moan are the ones who have no lives

I don't blame blizzard for this late EU beta opening, but i really believe that there is a communication issue in this great company, and that is such a shame.
Players and fans have to rely on web site like TeamLiquid and Judgehype in order to keep being informed, or to hunt blue post on the labyrinthic blizzard forums... Why don't they spam community with official announcement? It would be so easier for everyone. I feel so frustrated to discover by myself if EU serveur are up or not for example.
I remember when in the late stage of phase 1, mass disconnection occurred ("You have been kicked") on EU server with several days, and blizzard let us in the dark the entire time. I'm not saying that this disconnection are inavoidable, but they could just let us know what was happening before solving it.
If blizzard have a such moaner fancommunity, it's because their games are so great and no one can handle the wait. But maybe they could do more in order to relief us by maintaining us well-informed.
Sorry for my english and i would be please if anyone could rectify me.

I do not envy the target of the German anger =\

Does anyone know what the bnet server response is when it's not 'down for maintenance'?
