yellow cancelled the hatch because he was lacking in minerals, if you watch it again u'll see he had like 380 gas but no minerals. this is because he put down his pool before jaedong, and was always below on drone count (even though he sniped one), plus jaedong's lings got into the mineral line and disrrupted mining (which clearly hurt more than losing a drone). thats why he cancelled the hatch, and in my opinion, it was kind of the right decision. 1- if he had an extra hatch he would have had nothing to pump from it, he was so low on minerals. 2- he needed the minerals right there and then, cuz he knew jaedong was up on muta count.

yarnc had a small window of opportunity, right after the first muta battle where most of his scourge landed, yarnc had an advantage of 2 mutas. had he gone and attacked, he could have won the muta battle, and taken out enough drones to neutralize jaedong's expansion advantages.

but gg. dont hate on yarnc...

Also Calm had the advantage of being able to study Jaedong's game. Jaedong played a lot of zvz matches before his matches with Calm.

Because that was probably his gameplan.

yarnc was surely at disadvantage the entire game, from the build to ling counts and ling micro early on.

In that situation JD could just play with him, have complete scout info, messing around and just build up a good muta number and eventually expand.

Reason he canceled the hatch was because he saw JD massing muta after Yarncs scourges did close to no dmg, and if JD would've attacked Yarnc would've been in a really bad spot to defend. JD played safe because he had lesser ling count and just amassed and expanded.

He coudlve pumped scourge/ling... but ya. I guess he realized he was playing jaedong and that would probably fail miserably to his muta micro.

In that case then building the hatch in the first place was a massive massive mistake.
