It'd be a tough ask to have a map thats oth 2 player and racially balanced for ace matches in every season of proleague, given how quickly people get bored of maps. Well, the big problem is with the 3 and 4 player maps. You may get jacked with positional imbalance if your "connection" to your main and nat is far away (troops aren't as mobile allowing effective reavers harrass in the main while being able to bring them back easily to defend if need be). Happened to Bisu in the Stork game.. and JangBi in the ace match.

It's hard to always have a map thats both 2 player AND racially balanced. After all, most aces matches are NOT mirror ones.

Positional balance still exists though, on Shades of Twilight a Zerg could much easier drop the protoss main if it had 1 and Protoss 5. Same positions.

In game 5 too, positions played a role since JangBi's harass had to come all around the middle, which gave him less opportunities to harass. Bisu's harass route on the other hand, can just travel from the top part of the map which is a faster route, but we can see that JangBi can just move his goons over to the 1 expo and shoot the shuttle (which we saw when the cameras had his fpview). So, what's the difference during game 4? Why didn't Bisu just intercept the shuttle before it reached his main, like intercept it somewhere in the 3:00 main? Well it's because that Stork can also walk over to that place and crush the intercepting party, though Bisu can use that as a bait to corner Storks army, Bisu's game was just a little off. Stork can just send a handful of goons to clear that area then bisu sends his whole army to clean it up and he gets cornered, well the can be a chain of reinforcements and flanks and cornering, but the thing is that Stork really used the position to his advantage. I bet Bisu got pissed when he knew the starting positions and didn't want to play because he knew that Stork will use that position to his advantage which he did. But of course Bisu had to play but yeah, I think we can see him just acknowledge his defeat when he wasn't even dodging the storm drops left and right. Positions really play a role in games, because it determines the distance that your units will have to travel just to get to your enemy (and this is the reason why I hate playing in python). Just find what deathgod wrote a few pages back.:p

I blame that on the huge amount of Bisu fanboys extremists but also on the huge amount of anti-bisu bitter fanboys. You people shouldn't take it so personal... Good games anyways!

Why does this always happens when it's about players like Bisu T_T I blame that on the huge amount of Bisu fanboys extremists but also on the huge amount of anti-bisu bitter fanboys. You people shouldn't take it so personal... Good games anyways! It's because of how significant of a role positions played. Bisu is generally known for a harassment style of play while Stork fights straight up battles. Due to positions, this role was reversed, simply because of the advantage of positions. Refusing to acknowledge this and pointing to fanboyism is simply naiive. If Stork had won on a mirror map, these issues wouldn't have been brought up (I'm sure people would find whatever reasons, but not map imbalance). However, because Stork relied HEAVILY on map positioning to harass with his shuttles to weaken Bisu, that's why it's being discussed so much. It'd be like discussing heavily tank drops on Lost Temple from 12 to 9 and how it hit the toss nat or something. If a terran player won without doing that, it wouldn't be brought up. Either way, it appears even in general play Stork outplayed Bisu. It's just being noted heavily by people BECAUSE of how Stork played.
