i hope free wins.. It'd be the ultimate underdog story for a guy who many ppl thought was gonna be doomed to mediocrity in a team with terrible practice partners, yet somehow he has risen above it all and started to show great results.

I'm certainly rooting for Bisu in this matchup, but I wouldn't be that suprised if Free took it. Both are so strong right now. This Bo5 will be decided on who comes best prepared, and/or whoever gets the mental advantage.
Just impossible to call, doubt it'll go 3-0 either way, but again, no idea.

I have nothing against free, I like him, he seems to be a nice guy, but we need a royal presence in the finals. Enough upsets already, they are a good thing but this MSL got almost ruined by surprises. So free, make it easy for yourself, step aside. Someone has his 3rd golden badge to collect. Tbh I wont be shocked if free somehow manages to win, but no matter what happens I will remain Bisu fan for life

I dont care how hard he raped Nada when hes in terrible form, I don't care if he beat Jaedong when Jaedong gave him the win, that doesn't translate into the two things he needs to have, in order to survive a 3-0, or 3-1 rape at the hands of Bisu;

free always seemed to beat bisu by outmicroing dragoons, but i don't think that will be a problem anymore. bisu's gotten better at pvp in general over the last few months. I still think either one of them would lose to jangbi though.

Free IS playing the best SC he ever played yet - there's no denying in that. His PvP can be miraculous if he pulls it together - and lately we've seen how he has pulled his play together. He wasn't especially tested vs P...that test is now.
I don't think he can take it either - but he will put up a good fight.

I believe this will be rape, probably 3-1 or 3-0. One player is just going to catch fire and destroy the other one ridiculously. Can't really say which one though, either one could potentially elevate their play.

Bisu has shown himself stronger historically than free, although free has been on a tear recently, and is carrying the woojin stars to victory after victory.
I've said this before, and I'll say it again- I'm pretty sure that if the games go to longer than goons (reavers/dt) bisu should take the game, and if the games end before that, it should be free.

Bisu is like old bisu, and I think in the past month I've only seen Free lose one game, and it was to jaedong which he still won that Bo3.
Both are in tip top form. It's really a coin toss situation. I think free will win it though, I dunno why and I don't have any reasoning, I just have a feeling that he will.
Kind of unfair advantage for bisu though, he gets to practice with BeSt ~_~.

A random PL match from six months ago when Bisu was playing shitty is not compelling at all, it doesn't prove a thing. Free is not inconsistent. He has consistently proven to be a mediocre player, especially in pvp where he has never gone above 3 wins in a row. This whole thing started by Hotbid where Free is actually an amazing player, but is stopped by nerves [ala jangbi and magma] is blatantly false. Everyone has a few good games out there, and Free is no exception, but day to day he plays at a level around 10-15 out of the top players. Recently he has elevated his play, to a degree, but hes certainly not a beast....and it wont last.

I don't understand. I have seen so many times now the initial time listed as 1800 and it being changed not long before this time to 1830 leading to frustration in many. Surely the official time would be given out much earlier and would not be changed at such short notice.

8-10 goons for free, shuttle, reaver for free, bisu has similar numbers of goons but no reaver. you can see that bisu's expo is kicking in.
pylon goes down in front of free's nat.
Expo goes down for free. somehow bisu managed to contain free even while being at a tech disadvantage.
bisu moves in for first attack, free has 2 reavers, loses 1 without getting a shot off. free's reaver micro just isn't as good as his goon micro.

bisu managed to pick off both the reavers, with his goons only taking 2 shots, Bisu has 6 gates, robo and obs. free only has 4 gates, is waiting on his third reaver.

bisu picked his fights well, and was able to get that expo down. after bisu's expo kicked in, it was all downhill from free.
I still maintain that every game that goes past reaver/dt tech bisu is going to win, while every game that only goes to goons, free will win. Bisu just has much better reaver control than free, and it showed in that game, by how bad free's reaver control was.

yea, the idea needed to be that he should have extended his tech lead. since he decided to go obs first, reavers second, the reavers should have been enough to get like 15 probe kills (where he would have basically nullified the advantage of the faster nex). Too bad free's reaver micro is pretty bad apparently. Let's see if he can step it up.

In the short answer, don't let protoss get to that size army.
in the longer answer, scourge the shuttles with the reavers, dark swarm the archons, and always make sure that you have +1 base on the protoss (with as many hatches as you need to go ultra/ling/scourge/defiler)
edit: in the even longer version: it depends, but with that size army for protoss, zerg has a really really hard time.

it's called superior mobility + flanking and calls for at least semi-open maps
but if all expoes on the map are sort of mined out and you're sitting with that late-game protoss army just outside your hatchery cluster... well, then it's just not good

Huh? Bisu had a huge economical lead and could even afford to lose most of his army just to delay Free's push by destroying the first reavers...
Free did a nice effort remacroing but he totally blew his second pair of reavers which ended the game quite quickly...it wasn't clear, but imho Bisu would've been top of that fight even if Free pulled the reaver micro of his life - and he clearly didn't.

actually, from my perspective it looked as if bisu had been cutting a lot of probes to get to that gate count and army, but maybe he just was that economically ahead.
Sometimes it's hard to analyze from a VOD.
Then again, I trust your instincts more than my own on this one.

honestly free isn't playing as bad as everyone makes it seem...his micro has been pretty good aside from a few errors which have cost him big. he lost the 2nd game after his rush failed and bisu was smart about the DT tech which caught him offguard since he had expected reavers. honestly he had no way to tell either way because he was playing in the dark as far as bisu's tech went.

Bisu only made 1 gate so far, so Free isn't putting up a second gate yet either. Interesting.
Bisu even starts a 3rd pylon in his main before adding anything. I think he's building gates right there, it seems like that from the minimap.
Bisu's harass gets one probe so far but his zeal is still almost unharmed...second zeal coming in...2 probes.
Free started an assimilator, too. Hm.

Free clears the threat and proceeds teching. Bisu meanwhile just finished cy core and adding a 2nd gate in his main - his zeal numbers are very low (like 1? another just got trapped) vs Free's 5 or so.
Free starting a citadel of adun, but Bisu too! And bisu's is slightly ahead. Free on only 1 gate still, Bisu has 3 (1 in the proxy which is as good as dead). Bisu tries to sneak in with his remaining zealots but free denies with zeals on his ramp.
Both starting temp archives - Free starts forge too. I don't see forge for Bisu yet, his temp archives is marginally faster.

Ok Bisu doing everything he can, sacrificing a zeal and a goon to block his ramp pulling probes too...and the cannons warp in and DT's are trapped! Wow!
One DT escapes with 3 hp or something, Free has cannons at his nat and is expanding - Bisu tries the same but Free could deny it with his lone 3 HP'd DT! It heads to the choke of the main from the inside....and Bisu drags it to the cannons as free forgets about it! Bisu can also safely build his nat from now on. He has observers ready as well.
Unlike free, whose natural min line isn't covered by the cannons, so a DT from Bisu nails 3 kills there and halts mining until another cannon warps in. Bisu pulls the DT back...things are looking calm now. Free also has observer out and a shuttle hovering. Storm drop maybe?

Bisu pulls back behind the bridges but that means he has to give up his freshly made expo. He tries to save it with a smaller army + probe drill but changes his mind...actually he doesnt. engages with a help of an archon but Free's army is just that much bigger.

Free, however still can/t finish Bisu off. Only a matter of time hopefully.

Free destroys the 2nd nat while he starts his own in an identical position. Bisu tries to shut it down with a DT, but a cute cannon (with a pylon powering it from Free's main) prevents that.
Free has a huge army while Bisu has almost nothing, but 9 gates pouring units out. Bisu moving around the back entrance of his main, trying to come out the other way - Free spots that with an obs and moves in the bridges, catching bisu out of position.
Meanwhile a DT of Bisu got 6 kills off Free's probe train heading to the 2nd nat.
Bisu thwarts the offense of Free with the help of his probes at his nat...and he has his min only up in the corner.
He has lost a lot of probes though, while Free's macro is unscathed.
Free now moving in for the corner min only.

Well he had literally zero army and very low probe saturation, he lost a lot while trying to hold his natural...I do think the GG was premature, though - maybe he thought Free had another expo up somewhere, but still, usually progamers fight waaay further till the bitter end.
Maybe he just wanted to evade Free's confidence growing even stronger with him clinging to a lost game, or something, as he felt he would surely lose anyway.
That might be the explanation.

free is showing some awsome probe micro right now. he's stacking the probes so that the dt can't get in any hits at all, and only loses 2 probes while the cannon gets up. freaking amazing.

Really one sided in my opinion, when Bisu could hold a 4 gate rush (nice strat from Free btw) in that way he undoubtly showed who the best player is.
You can't lose twice from DT rush in such an important serie!

That probe micro was really really good though, especially for free. Bisu didn't do equivalent micro in game 3- free just did an amazing job.
