If you can beat Midas in PvT and Hyuk in ZvZ but still lose to T1 on a night when one of their best players is incapacitated by MSL play (fantasy).....T1 is going to be fucking scary this season.

Now time to roll Jaedong and Oz!

I'm not so sure fantasy's best matchup is even TvT. It seems to me that foreign coverage has kind of just latched on to "monster of TvT" as the token description for him and I don't think that's really substantiated with his game performances.

I guess this idea came from the fact that he beat NaDa in qualifying for both leagues, but, let's face it, NaDa isn't nearly top-tier TvT anymore (think FBH, Hwasin, Flash, Canata, so many others) and, plus, all four of those games were extremely competitive. It's not like fantasy really demolished NaDa.

Other than that...he beat a very nervous-looking Sea in a BO game and then totally outplayed Mind (which shouldn't really be that surprising, Mind sucks at TvT IMO). I'm just saying I don't see any evidence for all of these claims that fantasy is a TvT player.

Actually, I think fantasy's TvP is his signature matchup. Last PL we saw T1 trot him out on typically-Protoss maps (Colosseum, Andromeda) to try and snipe good Ps and he did a pretty decent job. For evidence, check his game against Pure on Andromeda. fantasy was still a bit rough around the edges here - one bad army placement and a good timing by Pure lost him the game - but there is definitely evidence of his strong TvP mechanics in that game.

Furthermore, fantasy's most impressive recent game is without a doubt his game against BackHo on Chupung-Ryeong. fantasy showed ingenious vulture control that basically put the game totally in his hands - BackHo was completely incapacitated. This was a win that impressed like none of his TvTs.

Anyway, I think fantasy is more of a good all-around player than a "TvT guy" and even the idea that he is a "TvT player" is pretty much false. Not many people knew much about him when he blew into both Starleagues, and this TvT thing happened to be the line that was attached to his name. There's really not much more to it than that.

Point being, fantasy's play of late shows, above all, that his mechanics are simply at a much higher level than they were during the last PL season, and that means he'll be a huge asset for T1 now - in all matchups.
