The truth is, July did have a relatively easy schedule historically, but he also showed quite an impressive series in this finals... Let's just leave it at that and be happy for him...

A disappointing series for me. One of the worst, if not the worst, OSL finals 
Game 1. 5 pool, lol. People.. this isn't some ingenius build in zvp. Even an iccup player zerg player would beat Best in the same situation. Best lost when the lings took out the forge and pylon early so he couldn't do anything as July recover his economy by pumping drones while teching.
Game 2. Brilliant play on July's part in breaking the choke.
Game 3. July playing solid with few weakness. July lost 20 or so hydra with the first drop, killed nothing, and yet still had the advantage. July outplayed Best.

One valid argument is saying what psychotemplar said, that July was more focused on his macro because he knew he could just overwhelm beSt with units (Which he did). July didn't start the game with 5 running expos, he took them." doesn't add anything to the thread and doesn't answer to the previous posts. What's your point? Does better micro, if Best had that, somehow redeems for the fact that July had the big picture won? BTW I was replying to psychotemplar. Also July didn't have his guardians storm killed. Watch it again, Best stormed but July moved them. Best finished them later with 1 storm on a single guardian and shot down the others with dragoons. I didn't say any of the things you are replying. And second I never said july had his guardians storm killed I said he got them stormed while clumped (he got them all to low hp btw, this happened against july's first guardians near the middle of the map).
July's micro won him game 2 with the drone drill. He also allowed almost no scouting and his zerglings were alive forever in game 3 going back and forth. Best let sairs die all over the place before pulling off that "storm" that killed the guardians. The guardians had taken out the reavers, basically already doing what they needed. You took one instance(which, as has already been pointed out, wasn't even the case, dragoons mostly got the guardians) to act like best didn't lose the micro battle. He did.
And btw, yes they are called cannons, oops, I mislabeled them in a post before going to sleep, sue me. Bad grammar? Well I guess thats what the argument degenerates to when you have nothing of context to say.
Anyway, getting back to the actual matter at hand, look at the posts in this thread, half of the Best fans said July couldn't stand up to Best's macro. After july wins 3 straight game, one of which did get to late games, some of them come back and say Best DIDN'T lose the micro battle, even though his micro did little to nothing in all 3 games. So tell me, how many games did best win in this series because of his micro?

Er I disagree with the game 1 statement that an iccup palyer would have defeated Best. After the initial rush failed, Best was actually ahead by quite a bit. All he really needed to do was play it safe and tech up and he would have probably won the game. Instead he went for the proxy, which ended up being a bad idea and cost him the game.

You cant dog on july after this monstrous performance. He showed near perfect zvp gamesense. It wasn't that best played bad, july simply outplayed him (although best losing so many sairs early pretty much fucked him up entirely).
On game one, best's proxy was a good attempt even thought it lost him the game. In many situations, that counter proxy could have worked. July just had the perfect reaction to what the toss was doing. Best should have been faster with cannons though. He might have saved his main if he had at least 2 cannons done and one warping. It does not take incredible sense to expect muta in that situation, but it is indeed hard to expect it so early after a failed 5drone.
Not much to say about game 2. Many tosses open 2 gate at nat, so overpool is a safe and flexible opening. When I saw july pull drones I was speechless cus it would work 90% in that situation. Still, many zergs would not have the balls to do it. It is likely that july decided that on the spot, cus his overlord changed direction to get vision of the mineral as its dying.
game3 july just showed AMAZING gamesense. I dont believe +1 scourge is a common strat (could be wrong), but I was amazed at how effective it was at keeping sairs at bay. But even so, best showed very poor sair management. After seeing bisu's sairs, you can really tell best sairs falls short. The near seemless transitions in army composition shows just how powerful zergs can be when they are not harassed. Also, intothewow mentioned july's micro needed work, but thats not entirely true. He did micro correctly by not trying to dodge some storms. Sometimes its better to keep shooting than strafing. When July didnt dodge, his army was already spread out flaking the toss in at least 2 directions. The reason he didnt spread out hte gaurds was cus he was responding to Best's attack. If he had time to manage his army, he would most likely spread it out. When the battle was faught, both army was kind of disorganized and in transition.
July was even more dominant today than he was before against toss I think. He was on top of EVERYTHING. I think he ONLY engaged in winning battles.

So what if he had an easier path to the finals? It looks like some people here are trying to imply that not facing Hwasin, FBH, Flash and other zerg killers in his way up to the finals makes his win somewhat undeserving and unfair. Well, imagine what. The guy coming from the easy bracket, the one who only got to the finals is because his opponents sucked more than him, beat 3-0 the great BeSt.
It doesn't matter shit if he got to the finals against Courage dropouts. The thing is that he got there, and he destroyed the other finalist, who is one of the best players right now, trailing only to Flash and JD. The fact that he 3-0ed BeSt is proof enough that he can take on harder opponents. Ok, he didn't go up against one of those zerg killer terrans. Lucky him. Who knows, maybe if the brackets were different, and somehow BeSt got to face July in the RO8, maybe he would haven't even smelled the finals.
July won. 3-0. He didn't have an all terran bracket. That doesn't take any credit away from him. Live with it.

if there was anyone donig the mid-late game overwhelming, it was definitely July.
Actually if anything was truly commendable about Best's play in the series, it was his micro with storms in game 3. There was a battle where he took on a ridicolous ultra/ling force with a far less expensive zeal/temp force and won (technically? it was more of an army trade, but a cost effective one) with great storms.
