+ Show Spoiler +NaDa - The Tornado Terran hasn't been devastating my towns lately. Ever since his last breath in the ShinHan Masters he has been on a downward spiral. Having a mediocre record in both rounds of Proleague he flunked out of group stages of Daum, GomTV 2, GomTV 3, and Ever 2007 Starleagues. He didn't even get into Bacchus OSL. He went 0-3 in his GSI group. The only positive note is his preformance in OSC where he made a late game comeback against SoO.
NaDa's play was so abysmal in game one aginst Anytime in the ro 16 that many lost faith in him to advance. However he did. Despite Anytime playing bad in games 2 and 3, NaDa stepped up to the plate elevating his game. His win over Anytime and advancement to the ro8 is the ounce of light shining down into the abyss NaDa has fallen into. NaDa follows the light to climb out but shortly after runs into Mind...
Mind - He is ugly, he is nerdy, he has sub-par mnm Control, he is boring to watch. However, he wins. Mind shocked the progaming world when he defeated both sAviOr and Bisu in bo5 sets to win the GomTV 3 MSL. Since then he has had solid, yet not spectacular, game bolstering a good proleague record and making the ro8 here. Mind's best matchup is TvT which has been tested in a best of 5 series when he demolished Mania last season. Mind is the slight favourite to win this series. Mind is a solid player and I am sure he will play solid once again. The question is will the inconsistent NaDa be able to step up to Mind's level?

Mind has an amazing game sense paired with solid basic skills. That should not be overlooked. And Nada is + Show Spoiler +in fact a mathematical function: sin( strongest terran player of all time )

NaDa played incredible in GSI. He would have owned Much but it was on Katrina. He would have won over Jaedong.. unfortunately Blue Storm helped.
Vs BoxeR he got cheesed.
If you take NaDa lightly you will well annihilated, not more, not less.
I know that I'm a huge fanboy of NaDa but you could clearly see that he is in good shape in these GSI games. My prediction:

i really hope that nada will win this. simply because i like nada and don't like mind. for me mind is still some sort of medicore player like ggplay who won a starleague without knowing the reasons for the victory.

And violetak, I understand you're a nada fan, so am I. But Mind is the favorite here. He's been playing a LOT better than Nada recently. I voted for Mind. But I actually want Nada to win. I just don't think it will happen. Mind looked amazingly solid in his game against Hwasin. He had a perfectly executed/prepared opening build and flawless mid game. Hwasin was behind from the beggining and Mind didn't make a single mistake to let him get back in it. The only succesful drop Hwasin got off was because minds units were being used to rape the shit out of Hwasins main.
Tyranid, you are the WORST hyper I've ever seen on this site. You're supposed to make both players sound GOOD so people are interested in the games. Not make them both sound like shit. Make sense?

Mind has 1 fact wtih an addon spining..aha its mins. And he mines up the highground near nadas base. Perhaps hell use the mines to delay nada while he takes a quick 3rd. Lol nada moves out with 1 tank, and then runs it back as its in red health after taking a mine.

Interesting Nada starts 2 facts before a starport. He has a small tank/gol army pushing to his high ground nat. He scans and clears the rest of the mines. Mind moving out with pure tanks...5 of them.

Mind with a batch of vults, about 8, at his main. They move out. Stream is fucking laggy! Mind rushes vults inside of mada's base mining up. He now is decimating scv at Nada's nat. Nada eventually clears but looses many scv and hasto run with remaining ones.

Stream dies again. Nada got really hurt by those vultures. Mind has set up a center 9 expansion. Nada pressures it with tank gol byt Mind has formitable siege tank defence there.

Nada manages to take out some tanks from the high ground but hes horribly behind. Mind starting his 4th base at the top mid. He has 2 dropships out. Nada has a gol army moving out to take out the bases at the top of themap. Mind looks to be trying to stop them with 2 dropships. Mind cancels one of the ccs. 4 tanks droped and nada barely takes them out with 3 weak gols left. Another 4 tank drop stop them though. Mind 1 base up but nada is starting another base at the mid right. However mind stops that with 1 vult

Mind red, Nada yellow. Players just positioning with tanks atm however, mind has 2 dsips. Mind drops 4 tanks at the 10 expo to protect it. Nada clears with goli. another drop there again by mind. 3 siege tanks. Nada's golies die.

Nada FINALLY starting a starpot. Mind has a sci facility up already. Mind ranges a few of nadas tanks near his nat. But mind loses some. The 1 vult at mid right has 4 kills now and is still firing at the cc. Aha nada finally kills the the vult. Hes guarding the cc ith 3 gols and a tank.

Lol Mind drops on nadas main, he does really good damage dispite losing 3 dropships to 3 well placed turrets. nada tries to stop it with his whole available army + all his main scvs but Minds army destroys it easily. GG.

Both players start their facts at the same time. Mind nicely stops nadas scv from enterting his base with a scv of his own on the ramp. A marine takes its place soon after.

Still, on TvT on Katrina, the counter-clock-wise position has a huge advantage in a straight up game. Of course it didn't help him here

Mind transferring scv to his outer expo. Mind a bit late with his expo, transferring scv 10 seconds later. Tnk guarding Nada's expo. 2 tanks and a vult out for Mind and. . . . stream dies again. . .

Mind partially blocking of his choke with a depot interesting. 1 rine chases nadas rax away...slowly. Nada going 2 fact armory. Hes moving out with 2 tanks and 2 vults but minds scv sees them comming. 3 vults now. Mind has 3 tanks and 3 vults of his own though. Mind also starting a starport. 2 gols join the marine firing at nada's rax and take it down. A wraith moves out across the map. Nadas staport is also done.

Nada laid mines on the highground near minds base but mind took them out with no damage. Dropship out/ 3rd and 4th facts started for mind.

Nada also has his dropship now. Mind looking to harass but turns around. Hes also looking to expand to his high ground 2nd nat. And he does, nada does the same, and a little earlier.

Minds one wraith looking around. Mind has 3 drophips against nadas 2. Both players have no taken their back bases yet . Lol, also both players tried to drop there. OHHH Mind gets off a HUGE 3 dropshp drop in the back of nadas main. Right by his mins. Nada clears it but not before losing units/scvs and most importantly, 2 dropships.

Mind dropping nada's main. No troops thre. Nada runs his scvs fast though. Not many lost. Nada now drops on the drop and clears. Scvs come back. Great job by Nada. Mind loading up again. A battle in the midde, mind runs back.

This is a really good game so far. Both players taking their rear base, mind's is first and has 3 turrets there.

Mind expanding to his protected AND to the 5 oclock. Armies just roaming the map, not much action. Nad expanding to the 10.

Both players have 5 dropships now. Nada looking to take the bottom right while Mind looks to take top left. Nadas scv building the cc is killed though. Delaying it. A small army is destoryed by nada, but Mind managed to snipe a dropship.

I wonder if M2 is married with that girlfriend of his since then. Or doing 3-some with the dog? Hehehe.
Anyway, back to topic, Mind seems to be ahead to me (secure it for my Liquibet, thanks )

Mind with 7 dropships and a fairly nice sized ground army. Nada has 7 ships as ell but a smaller ground army. Still a close game though.

Nada has the 9 center and 10 up and running. Mind has the fresh 6 oclock and a lot of defence there. Players just macroing so far. Shit I got confused. Nada has 5 and Mind has 10. Mind drops Nada's 5 but Nada clears.

OOOO ouch. Nada screws upa drop and loses a bunch of dropships, doing very little if any damge to the setup near the bc starports and the now destoryed gas at nadas 2nd highground nat.

Nada opening 2 fact which mind instantly sees with an scv. After some nice manuevring the scv escapes alive. Mind starts a cc. His rax is already in the air. 1 vult and 1 rine out for mind. Nada going 2 fact no shop vults. Interesting. Mind will have a small period of weakness. Lest see if nada can exploit it before mind gets enough tanks. Nada has an armory up.

Ok now Nada does come up with 2 vultures and a rine. He sees the proxy but is repelled by tank and vult there. The and rine try to run in but die.

Its not exactly a proxy Hes just building them on the high ground so they start at a better position. Mind already sieging the min line of Nada. Nada forces the tank back with a wraith. But this realllly sucks for nada as hes forced to give away his plan. At least partially. Mind with a huge advantage so far.

Mind is advaning and is at the BS sweet spot. One tank at the sweet spot shooting up scvs. lone wraith hitting Mind's tanks in the middle. Mind now has 5 tanks there. He re sieges the sweet spot. Nada with 2 wraiths now but mind is rallying gols.

Nada quickly snipes a dropship and a tank. Then rolls the harass with mass tanks. Mind did his dmage though and then drops the nad. Nada handles that instantly. Nada looks to be AHEAD now! Pretty nice game.

Mind now ferrying units into Nada's main via far cliff. Nda does not see. Mind now with several tankgoli sieging up and attacking Nda's natural gas. Nada does NOT have many units. Drop dealing some damage. Nad finally clears with ground. Another drop by mind over the nat minline but it is swiftly dispatched.

Nadas wraith tank + a few gol army greatly out numbers minds. However nada gets cocky and charges head on into minds smaller army, not cost effective. As a result the game is back at dead even. Both players start ccs in their respective corners. Mind with a NICE goliath drop at nadas nat gets a lot of scvs but loses the dropship + all the gols to 2 wraiths and tanks.

Nada has now built up quite a ground force. Nada advances them through the middle and pushes Mind back from there. Mind has a floating ebay. Nada expanding to 10, mind to 5. Mind drops 4 gols over Nadas nat minline again killing a couple of scv's but once again cleared fast. Mind now taking a group of scv's toward the middle and engages pure siege tank there with tank gol support. Nadas tanks unsiege and run back.

Mind is better than Flash imo. Despite Flash's great showing at GSI. But Flash is definitely the other possible canidate. You could make a strong case for both.
Mind tried to break a strong tank push/contain in the middle with his owntanks + scvs but it worked out horribly for him. Nada snipes another dropship and then kills 4 gols with tanks at the cost of 2 wraiths. Nada playing very well this game. Hes starting his min only. Mind boldlytaking the bottom expansion. But its defended with a wall of tanks.

Players dividing the map. Nada has established 12 BUT Mind mass drops it with reinforcements form units below the cloff. Nada lifts off the CC and runs remaining scvs. Nada being passive, Mind making all the moves.

Mind looks to be back ahead in the game. But not by much. Great game so far. Ohhh 6 dropships drop the top left base. They kill a LOT of scvs but are taken out by nadas army. nada does kill FIVE mind dropships though. A big blow. Maybe this will allow nada to take back the much needed 12 o clock base.

Nada definitely did switch to bcs too quickly. He didnt even have his turret grid in place to deal with minds superior dropship count. As a result minds dropships have just now shut down nadas top left base. All the scvs die there.

Mind has fantastic macro/multitask. Mind with a BIG drop + ground attack combo. It dominates the tanks there and takes out some bcs as well. Nada basically only has 4 bcs and 2 tanks active right now Mind is outplaying nada despite nada having a strong early game.

Add on up for the port + nada is starting his cc. Perhaps nada will go for an early vult drop. OHH MIND 2 STARPORT. THIS IS BIG. He will have a huge advantage over nadas one starport. OH WAIT . The slow vults have mines. A marine wraith and tank take care of the vults but not before 6 or so scvs + 2 rines go down. Minds 1 wraith kills a marine but then dies to nadas 2wraiths. Cloak started for mind. The game pretty much dead even now. Minds bo advantage has been nullified nicely by nada.

BUT mind does have 4 dropships built and semi hidden. It may be possible that he could launch a verystrong wraith +dropship semi all in attack. Here come 5 dropships! The wraiths are dancing ... THE WRAITHS OF NADA ARE OUT OF POSITION AND MIND LANDS ON THE MAIN. His tanks are in range of the main cc which dies AND the 2nd nat min line. Nada manages to clear the drop but he took HUGE loses. Mind in the meantime has taken his 2nd nat. AND FUCKING REDROPED THE BASE. Jesus Mind is good.

Mind just played better. NAda overextended himself with the third expo. Mind quickly transitioned into ground army and used his 2 starports to land a big drop on Nada's main. Nada didn't even have a clue as to the drop coming. From there... Mind won through pure macro.

Even the game Nada won it seemed like he was about to cave in with every drop push from Mind. Despite the win Nada came off worse off. In the last game Nada just wasn't in it.

Nada won shinhan masters in 2007, won 2. shinhan in 2006, was runner up in 3. shinhan 2006-2007. That does not really translate into "easily" beaten, unless by "nowadays" you mean today.
But still, the question should rather be, why would you expect players to be perfect and keep up with every new player, map and strategy for the rest of his life? Those are some expectations.

Im gonna bet my balls that its going to be a Jaedong vs Kal Finals. Seeing Mind's games in the Ro16 and Ro8, he doesn't have much technique, his play is very predictable. No doubt he is very good in standard play and heavy macro, but with the rate Jaedong is going, I just don't see Mind in the Finals this season.
This time, he can't play "mind games" on our man Jaedong like what he did to his mentor NaDa.

I think NaDa is really awesome but yay for Mind. Mind has really grown on me and I like him way more than Flash. In the last MSL he beat oOv, sAviOr, and Bisu. Now this MSL he has taken down NaDa and is playing Jaedong next. This guy is the new legend killer.
